A good phrase = Rude and arrogant human beings that need to grow and mature just like everyone else in the world
No person but Christ Jesus has ever been perfect in this Earth of ours.
God's Word says that anyone who puts their trust in human beings is a fool.
God's Word also says that we should trust only the True and Living Almighty God.
Read the book of Proverbs in the Holy Bible and you'll see this for yourself.
Also, the reason that the Bible refers to the Church as the Body of Christ is because we are also supposed to grow and mature together...praying for each other and being real and transparent with each other so we can learn and grow and change.
For those of us who are true Believers in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...our job is not to stand in condemnation of others...that's like shooting the wounded lamb instead of helping them heal...our job is to pray and be empathetic and helpful and patient until the other person gets it
Empathy and compassion is like a seed, we must remember to plant it on other people's behalf so that when we fall short, we can also receive the same empathy and compassion from others

It sounds to me as if you are referring to what is called "bible-beaters"
They are well intentioned and honestly believe that they are doing the right thing by telling you what they think, they are not going about it in a way that is going to change your mind about Christianity. Although there are some that need to hear it,
the "hellfire and brimstone" speech is not for everyone and in fact turns some people away. Besides even the bible says "judge not lest ye be judged." To me that means that I have no right to act superior to anyone else for any reason when it comes to the choices I have made because we have all sinned. Not one of us is perfect. (I am a Christian.)

Pharisee
Pharisees were the ones that Jesus reprimanded the most. They were religious for recognition and had "better than thou" attitudes. They saw people as "in" or "out". Pharisee's thought that they were better for their faith.

Sometimes we have to realize that their are those Christians who are religious Christians, they do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, they have a religious relationship with Christ - the missing ingredient there is personal. So you might just refer to them as religious Christians. Those who have the personal relationship will know you're not meaning them!

Not Christian in any way, are they? If they present themselves as followers of Jesus of Nazareth, and truly believe that he is the Christ, then they cannot possibly be Christian. I would call them hypocrites.
