Being a stripper is a very lucrative form of employment. My daughter is a dancer and she makes a mint every time she goes to work. Just because you chose this for a means of earning money doesn't make you a bad person, it just makes you smart and very courageous. I'll bet all those folks who tell you you are some kind of harlot would never have the courage (or the looks, no doubt) to stand up in front of people to dance. Screw them all and keep it up! It pays too well to let it go and you meet some very interesting people. Good luck!!

I am not sure what is suppose to work , since I am not a bible thumper I am not going that route anyhow. I think if you want a career that is short lived and requires you to get naked in front of anyone that chooses to pay to see you that is fine. However do not be fooled into thinking this makes you pretty or sexy. I have seen strippers that I would not go out with if they paid me.Anyone who wants to take their clothes off can get a job as a stripper.

I think that you're a person, just life the rest of us, trying to survive and maybe even thrive. I am a factory worker. There are preconceived notions about that type of job, just as there are about strippers. Now, I know that I am a pretty intelligent and open-minded person, not maybe what you would first think of in a factory worker. I am sure that you have many facets to you that many people would not ascribe to a stripper. It's time to cut the labels and not judge books by their covers, but I think we all know that is unlikely to happen in this lifetime.

mistatom2002: Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute. That is never mentioned in the bible, to my knowledge. That is a myth created by early religious leaders and men who wanted to suppress women's role in the story of Christs life and therefore suppress women in society, so that they could control the masses and promote their own personal and political agendas.

I'm personally am libertarian and am all for a person doing exactly what they see fit to do with their lives.
I do however know, from personal experience, that people that go down that path seldom overcome from that kind of "lifestyle", so , as it is your choice to do it, it should also be your responsibility to take care of yourself when your career dries up, and it will,. Many people in the profession end up on drugs and have a serious problem with being able to overcome the choices they make when they are young.
I have a few friends (or acquaintances) whom have ruined many lives i.e. children, parents, and friends. My sister-in-law is one of them.
I know it isn't my business, but you asked and I hope you can gain the self esteem to do more with your life and your body than showing it to some ugly smelly old fart for a dollar. I mean think about it for a minute. When the lady at the coffee shop pours me coffee, I give her a dollar as a tip, you get completely naked and you get a dollar. Make something of yourself before you get caught up in the lifestyle that will lead to a dead end.

I don't think you're a harlot. I wonder what doing something like that does to your psyche and your soul. Nothing to do with Hell or anything, but it seems like you must shut off a part of your self to present yourself for strangers to stare at, etc...
Also just from a feminist point of view I feel like it's a negative thing that women are so objectified in our society.

I went out with a stripper for two years and was cool with it, proud even. No harm in looking. Don't listen to the religious freaks. There's nothing in the bible that says you can't look at naked women. Jesus had compassion for Mary Magdalen and she was a ho. Strippers aren't even in that category so you should be fine.
I think you are bringing hapiness to the world and brightening peoples day. Nobody finds it a drag to go out have a beer and watch a beautiful woman dance naked. Good on you.

i used to be a dancer for a few years and thought i was all that because of all the attention i was getting. all i can say is that i was full of it like you. men will flatter any woman that will get up and flaunt it in front of them. you are no more special than any of the rest of them and you will find it out soon enough. men are there to see ANY and ALL women in those places. if you have kids it will get back to them in the end. who wants a mother that's a stripper? how embarrasing for your family even tho you don't realize it now, you will later. i'm only telling you the truth. been there, done that. may God bless and keep you even if you don't want Him to.

I'm sorry that you feel that you need to be in that line of work due to what it is, and the added hazards, like exposure to overbearing bosses, sleazy customers, drugs and alcohol and the pressure to do more than just strip. But I understand that it brings in a lot of cash and some may actually enjoy it. You're an adult with free will.

I think you have to do what you have to do, and you also have to like what you see in the mirror everyday.
If that is good enough for you, so be it. If your comfortable not believing in God, it's your right.
God, this is a great country.... Don't you think?
If you had asked if I think you have issues that you need to face, well that would be an entirely different answer.
I would have said that you may have a self respect issue, or a low self esteem issue, or that your enviornment may need a face lift, but you didn't ask that question, so....
I assume, you do what you have to do, regardless.

Get a savings account! Seriously. I have family that didn't realize until too late that the gig wouldn't last forever. My aunt broke her hip in a car wreck and can't perform anymore after 15 years in the biz.
