Why does most European beer taste like rubber?

I've tried several European beers, and all of them, except Guiness tastes like it was arained through my bike tire.

Whoops, I meant strained, not arained.

The reason is that most exported beers are pasteurized[1]. Which means it was brought to boiling temperature before bottling. It might also have some preservatives[2] added to survive the transatlantic journey.
As a result the beer tastes like rubber. Even Guinness, but in its case the heavy taste of roasted malt masks the preservative's flavor[3].
If you go to Europe an try the same beers without preservatives or pasteurization they will taste INFINITELY better. Try Guinness in Ireland -- you will be AMAZED.
So i would recommend just sticking to local brews of whichever place you have happened to be at. The beer is the best when it is un-messed with.

Thats because most europeans dont drink beer they drink lager,we in the uk drink real beer and ales and they taste how a good beer should
To dispell a myth about english beer we don't drink it warm,draught beer is kept at cellar temperature if it is warm it tastes strange similar to frying eggs in olive oil,ale is served chilled.

i dont know what your drinking but ive never had that problem with German beer....also check the date beer gets old like any other food product. go here if your not sure how to read it:

They brew it in a big vat, then let dogs swim in it right before they bottle it.

unfortunately you haven't had German beer...best beer i've ever drank...makes american beer taste like water...
