Radiation is not really a substance. It is a word that describes how energy travels or transfers. And it may or may not be toxic. It depends on the what sort of radiation it is and how much you're getting it, along with your genetic traits and other environmental factors. Sunshine is a form of radiation. Too much exposure will cause sunburn or skin cancer. Too little sunshine cause depression in Winter or Vitamin D deficiency.

Radiation is not toxic in low doses. I mean right now, sitting in front of your computer display you are receiving lots of radiation. If you have a CRT, you're getting hit with minute xrays from it. If you have an LCD you're getting hit with electromagnetic radiation in the form of light.
There are millions, perhaps billions of radio stations whose electromagnetic radiation is passing through you at all times. The sun emits a great deal of radiation, a small portion of it you will see with your eyes as light. Of course everyone knows of the ultraviolet radiation (UV) that causes tanning and/or skin cancer.
The light bulb over your head is radiating light which is another frequency of electromagnetic radiation.
There are cosmic rays and xrays from space passing through you right now.
Neutron (nuclear) radiation is very damaging to human cells. But it too does exist naturally in the environment.
However, high levels of just about any radiation is bad. That's why there is an interlock on your microwave oven door, which is again simple electromagnetic radiation (radio waves). It's why you have to wear a lead blanket when you get an xray at the doctor's office. It's why you don't want atomic bombs blowing up in your backyard. (ok, the destruction from this is bad too)

Well, yes all radiations are toxic to the plants and animals and humans. Some r toxic in high concentration while some are deadly enough in tiny amounts too. Even light is harmful to plants if available in overdose.

Radiation is not a substance. Its a form of energy released on chemical reactions like what they do in nuclear power plants. Radiation can penetrate your skin and can kill you.
