Anyone know what could be causing this? It just started a few days ago.

Do you power off your system when you're done? Reboot your PC. Explorer sometimes doesn't connect double clicks during a post-resource crash, so you can double click programs til the cows come home on the desktop and they won't run at all.

If this persists, you probably have a bad spyware/malware problem: try to run anti-spyware to get rid of it.

Time to clean up. Get rid of all of your excess garbage. Then go to registry and remove all of that extra garbage. You should be ok then. Don't forget to clean your C drive. Condense your permanent stuff and temps, and remove all the old temps that are no longer needed. Be careful what you download: spyware and such. It can really gum up the works.
