Well not knowing more information (i.e. what you've done wrong) you have several options, you can plea down to a lesser charge and depending on the nature of the crime try and get a suspended sentence if this is the first crime you've been convicted of. Another thing you can do is try and strike a deal for community service, anger counseling if it's that kind of offense, maybe a suspended driver's license or a driving course if it's driving related. Something more serious maybe probation for a few years again this is related to the severity of the crime and what state you are in. A few other options relate to the charges being inflated untrue and producing witnesses and or evidence to corroborate (support) your version of the events in question.
