No, if you exercise properly you can eat whatever you want and not gain weight ;-) They are exercising so that they CAN eat whatever they want... cuz you can't do both.

It does sort of defeat the purpose. It depends on what they eat, though. Junkfood, not so good. But usually I like to refuel with a healthy meal after exercising.

Most certainly, but all is dependent on calorie to exercise ratio. You exercise more than what you eat in calories you are going to lose weight. Also metabolism plays a large part also

Not if the purpose is to maintain weight. Sometimes people don't need to or don't want to lose weight, they just want to maintain. In that case, in order to eat what they want, they exercise.

To answer your question, if people eat whatever they want and want to maintain their normal body weight, they must try to burn some of the calories eaten from foods. So if people want to maintain their weight and want to eat whatever they want, they must exercise to burn some of the calories consumed from the food.

No, exercise not only burns calories but also increases your metabolism, so if you exercise regularly you will process bad foods faster than somebody who does not exercise regularly.

It's a pretty stupid concept, then they whine, "why can't I lose weight, I exercise all the time?" Stop eating donuts, pizza and hamburgers and you will lose weight.
