Perhaps because commercials tell you to like it. Bud and Coors appeal to people easily swayed by commercials, and people who want to follow the crowd and not be an individual.
If you tried some good beers: Imports and American microbrews, you would realize that Bud Light is just a highly commercialized plain beer.

When you find out.. let me know.. I do not drink American beer much but the only one that I like... the only one that I will tolerate is Bud Light....Why? Is it the taste?
