In French, a guinea pig is a "Cochon d'Inde", or literally, a "Pig from India." French kids sometimes mistakenly interpret this as "Cochon Dinde" which means "Pig Turkey."

I think we should therefore name the hamster "Dandy" (which is short for Cochon Dinde"). Or maybe just plain old "Turk".
