I just got a great Catholic Christian CD in the mail. It's called, "Jimmy Swaggart Made Me Catholic" by Tim Staples. I just finished listening to the first of 3 CD's, and I love it! It's amazing how Tim went from being a very anti-Catholic Assemblies of God minister to finally becoming a Catholic Christian, joining the Catholic Church, and now is one of the leading speakers on defending the Catholic faith.

He basically said that he had no bad experiences while he was Protestant, but when he found the fullness of truth in the Catholic Church, he knew that he couldn't turn away from the Church that Jesus founded. I highly recommend this CD set to any Christian.

I have actually wanted to get that for a while. I listen to EWTN, and I recently finished reading "Rome Sweet Home" by Dr. Scott Hahn, about the conversion of himself and his wife to Catholicism. I am also enjoying reading some of "The Catechism of the Catholic Church" (not easy for me), and a book about female converts to Catholicism that I forget the name of right now :). Thanks for posting this question!

Catholicism and Christianity don't seem to be the equal faith. Most persons generally tend to suppose and say that they're the equal.Catholicism isn't the department of Christianity. It is an additional faith. There are Christians,Roman Catholics, Independents, protestants, Orthodox and Anglicans. These are the 6 leader/primary 'religions' that worship the Christian God or Jesus Christ or each.I do not know a lot approximately different religions I best realize approximately Catholicism. So it isn't handy to factor out the truly variations.

Jesus didnt set up the catholic church. The apostles set up the first church and it wasnt called catholic or anything.

Romans set up the catholic church. And technically it wasnt even called the catholic church until the 2nd century, 200 years after peter paul and the rest of the gang. I dont know about you but have yet to see any 200 year period where religion didnt step in and replace relationships of faith, or where a body of believers didnt split on the basis of belief.

Technicaly any church can call itself the church started by christ since all began with the christian faith which started with the apostles, every one can be traced back that far. Most sprouted from the catholic church, which was the strongest in the centuries following christ. But itself was not truely founded until constantine made it the roman state religion, where it was able to grow from there, but only under the watchful eye of the roman government.

Christianity is about a one on one relationship with Christ, and coming together with a like-minded people to glorify the Lord. I have yet to find a group of people devoid of their own intentions and opinions and truely bent on dying to themselves and following after Christ. In my opinion that cant happen until Christ returns and all is made perfect in our hearts. And until then we should all be firm in our convinctions, since we will be judged by them.

I was raised Catholic...but I never beleived in everything it taught. I did however how a strong faith in God, and His son Jesus Christ. That belief was what enabled me to find the truth about my Heavenly Father and about His son.

Sorry I donot support any religion that prays to other gods or to other dead people. The onyl person I pray ot is to Jehovah through his son Jesus Christ. Jesus was& is the only one whom raised from the dead. Out of respect, but his mother did not raise on the 3rd day,nor did she die for your sins.SO why give her any attention at al lexcept thanking Jehovah for using her as a vessel to bring forth his only begotten son! Sorry but it is shown the RCC is a false church(not individuals).Constitine the founder not only dabbled in Christianity ,but also stuck with Pagansim,& only accepted Jesus on his death bed.

That sounds like an interesting book. I love Thomas Merton's writings. Ignore some of the ignorant ramblings on here. Thanks for sharing something interesting.
