It is to be expected.
"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake,
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Matthew 5:11-12

We have to walk through the fire.
Be tried and tested.
They probably just wish they had what we do, but they have some problem in seeing GOD in everyday life.
They want or need something more physical perhaps....
The little things, or huge things, like the miracle of birth, or someone miraculously surviving a car crash, where the car may have rolled, caught fire or even perhaps went over a 500 foot embankment and the person survived for three days before being rescued...they may be like....
Oh well it was his seatbelt that saved him. Or evolution gives us life, babies, etc... The car must have had a rollbar. The fire was in the backseat....
CHRIST resides in our hearts, we are so blessed.
May the Father show us the way to bring the others to HIM...
PRAISE GOD...
FATHER/ SON AND HOLY GHOST.
And may He in the meantime, keep those ATHIESTS/ Agnostics , ort other non-believers, pre-occupied, until they are ready to HEAR the WORD's which GOD IS PUTTING IN OUR HEARTS to bring them to HIM.
In GOD's TIME.
NOT IN ours

I looked at your questions and didn't see any Athiest issues arising out of Yahoo Answers.
Are you getting these rude remarks from people you work with? People in the street?
Who are these rude Athiests who keep making the remarks you speak of?

You just keep the love of Christ. Stay grounded in His love for you and pray for a Christian or non-Christian and even for yourself when they are wrong. Jesus said.
John 7:7
7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
Oh and I see you have some good answers already Matthew 5:10 does call us blessed in fact the whole first part of the chapter does. God Bless and Keep you. I love you and so does our Lord and Savior.

Some of them are flat-out rude, yes. But some people claiming to be Christians are just as rude. There are nice Atheists though too. And nice Christians.

Just remember these three passages and you'll be further along to living the life that God has called you to.
"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Matthew 5:11-12
"But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. 2 Timothy 2:23-26
James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing....Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20

I'm a reverend and in my experience people who are not devout tend to have a negative view of those of us who are. Contrary to what most people think I should believe, it is the backlash of the fervour with which religion was used as a weapon against people hundreds of years ago.
My hope is that in the years to come we are able to settle somewhere in a happy medium of respect.
Somethings that may trigger this are if you open a conversation with your views. While there is nothing wrong with discssing your theological views most people consider this a very person matter and shun if it is the lead in topic for discussion.

I just read a question a whole bunch of people were supporting a person's statement that there is no God and that he himself is god and we should all worship him. Then someone else said that coffee was their god, and I was just getting sicker and sicker the more I read the responses.
