Yes. I have a suggestion for you...there are now a few different manufacturers of a product that is essentially a cat drinking fountain. It continously circulates the water throughout the bowl and has a constant stream of water dripping from the top. My cats love it...it is much preferred to just a bowl with water in it. They usually cost about $60-$80...very well worth it. If you do a internet search, they are easy to find.

RE:
My cat insists on drinking from the faucet!?
And the Faucet only.
We put bowls of fresh water out every day and he won't go near it. He'll meow and run to the bathroom, jump on the sink and stares at us until we turn on the faucet, after which he drinks until he gets his fill. It was entertaining, but this is like 4 times a day or...

My daughters cat will only drink from the faucet or the sink...I guess its because the water is fresh and cold. Bowls of water get warm and skunky smelling. My dog will only drink from the toilet...she has been doing that for 8 years. She won't drink from a bowl no matter what.

Yea! My cat does The EXACT Same thing!
This is what we did. Get the water bowl, fill it up, and put it on the counter of the sink he drinks out of it. Leave it, see if he drinks it. If that doesn't work, then (While the bowl is there) Everytime he Comes up for a drink, Push him away from the sink, and make him Look at the Water bowl, Sometimes it doesn't work, but Don't just let him drink from it becuz he'll think it's okay, Sooner or later, if you don't give him tap water, he has to drink something so he will drink from the bowl. then you graduallly move the bowl to where you want it. (Or leave it there) But while it's on the counter, don't use the sink while he drinks, becuz cats think the sink and tap is facinating, my cat watches it dripping for hours! well, i almost guarentte it will work, good luck with kitty!

Yes! I have a cat that does the exact same thing. It has to be the bathroom sink... No other sink will do ! I've heard that cats have a hard time seeing clear water... and that is why they like it to be running. Also, you can put water in a clear bowl.. which helps them see it better too. My cat is just spoiled, so I doubt anything would work for him.

cats just like water that is more tasty! They are known to drink out of sinks, shower recesses, puddles and even toilet bowels. For some reason dirty water just tastes better and even with fresh water offered they will usually take the other options. Try cleaning these areas with detergents etc...so the smell is off putting to them. You can buy sprays and so on that are fairly pleasent smelling (ie eucalyptus) to humans but disgusting to cats. You could wipe these areas over with these products. You can get them from gardening or pet shops or at least in Aussie you can! One example is called "scat cat" and comes in sprays and granules. We used it on our garden because neighbours cats kept digging up our gardenias! You need to use it for a couple of weeks then it fixes the problem permanently. I think it would be fine to spray the indoor areas lightly with this and wipe over with a cloth and see if that keeps them away!

I had the same situation. I finally just stopped turning on the faucet. It took a while to break them of the habit but eventually they got thirsty and went back to drinking out of their bowl. My mom spoils her cats and just lets the bathtub faucet drip all day long and they seem to like that too. I guess it just depends on how much you want to cater to your cat.

My cat drinks from his bowl, but loves to drink from the faucet. I don't know why. It is entertaining especially when he tries to bite the stream of water.

Cats like to have fresh water. Alot of cat's prefer running water. Get him a water dish with a fountain on it.

Or PetSmart or PetCo, what ever is in your area. Even a local pet store should have one or can order one for you.
Good Luck.

Myu sister's pet cat also does the same.. CAts wants to feel refreshed whenever they drink water so they make sure that the water they drink is safe and fresh.. they are only securing their safety against sickness.
