No.

Think about it. Would knowing whether the stone is real or not make your relationship better?

It will depend on your relationship and the situation.

Do you think he would give you a fake, and say it's real? If so, do you really want to be with a liar?

If you think he thinks it's real, he may have gotten ripped off. There are several are ways to politely handle this. First let him know it's the thought not the ring that really matters!! Then if you have had the ring for a while, don't you need to take it in to have checked for any loose stones? Also did you know that you need a written appraisal for home insurance to cover it.

If the ring, was from this mother or grandmother, say nothing.

well it should not matter if its real fake expensive or cheap its the love behind it that matters , no matter what type of gift u get or ring ect its the thought and love behind the gift and the ring , after all when u marie it does not say with this diamond ring , gold ring silver ring i thee wed it say with this ring i now thee wed , and the meaning of the ring is a circle that has no begining or end

Stop being so shallow.
Maybe you should just be grateful that someone loved you enough to want to give you the best they could.
That is what is important!
The value should come from the heart, not the stone.

i wouldnt care if it was, marriage is not about that. i would wear a twist tie if that is what he gave me, its a symbol nothing more. People get too caught up it in, if that was all he could afford at the time then so be it.

Maybe you got ripped by a crooked jeweler.
If you ever dropped it off to get refitted or anything, it could have been switched.
