IF you sold it ( depending on the state, in TN for example you are required to take your tag off of it at sale
You will be notified of the impound but the driver will get the tickets for driving it without stickeer and so on.
You will have to most likely prove you sold it to them, and that they failed to transfer the ownership.

Yes. A proper transfer of ownership requires changing the registration and returning the old tags. If the kid who bought it is a minor, the sale may be invalid and you may have to return the money as well as facing fines. This sounds like a mess.

If it still has your tags and still registerd under you names. That kid was just driving your illegal truck. They will be talking to you and you will have to get it out of impound.
You may also have to give the kid his money back or fix the truck to make it legal.
It will have to be fixed before they let it out of impound.

If you signed it over, you shouldn't get in any trouble. However if the kid doesn't say he just bought it (Or doesnt admit to it being his now) You will get all the blame. If you took down the kids name you should be able to do something about it.

not if your husband has a signed sale reciept (even if it's handwritten) for the truck & signed over the title. otherwise, prepare to pay up.

as long as you have the bill of sale you should have changed the title yourself. but if you sold it as street legal then you may be guilty of fraud.
