The Christian Right displays a consistent and almost unwavering opposition to modern science, because it contradicts their religious ideology. This reveals their preference for ideology over facts, reality, and reason.
Secular institutions are free from control or domination by religious institutions, They believe that an only institutions founded on religious values — preferably their own — can do any good in society.
Traditional religion accords both men and women limited and restricted social roles based upon their gender. The fact that men’s roles are more powerful and public is something women are supposed to simply deal with because that’s God’s will.
Diversity is not a strength for the Christian Right, it is a weakness that distracts people from following God.
Christian Right defends policies which appear to have no other purpose than to punish extramarital sex.
Even the Christian Right’s opposition to abortion appears to have more to do with punishing sex than with preserving life.

They're only opposed to modernity if they can't benefit from it. For example, many Christian conservatives have no problem with accepting capitalism and encouraging people to become obscenely rich even though there are so many places in both the Old and New Testament where wealth is condemned. Obviously this is because they themselves can benefit from overlooking or intentionally misinterpreting that particular bit of biblical scripture. Likewise, they have no problem with divorce and remarriage being legal even though Jesus himself says that no man should tear asunder what God has brought together (namely, a man and his wife), and in spite of the fact that the Bible considers both pre-marital sex and post-marital sex (in a second marriage, for example) adultery, which is condemned in no less than the Ten Commandments, let me remind you.

On the other hand, being primarily heterosexual, they find the idea of homosexual sex gross and hence they have no problem with reading the Bible literally when it comes to Old Testament condemnations of sodomy such as those that appear in Leviticus (which specifies that both sodomites and children who talk back to their parents will "surely die," which we can take to mean that they should be put to death. Nice, no?).

So I would say that Christian conservatives embrace modern American life, even when it goes against the Bible, but only if they can benefit from the changes. They are perfectly able to rationalize their own sins, but they have no intention of making changes to accommodate the sins of others. When it comes to issues like homosexuality, they're all fire and brimstone.

you could not be more wrong. some of the great scientist are Christians. there are some things Christians do stand against. but it mostly embryonic stage of life. people have been selling the idea that Christians are against stem cell research. which is a lie it is embryonic stem cell research which has not produced any durable science. remember the Koren doctor that told the world all the great things he was doing with embryonic research? just to find out all his test were complete failures. that embryonic stem cells are not as good as adult stem cells. then the abortion issue , it is for both the health of the woman and the child. do you know one out 5 woman will be emotional damaged ,because of abortion a Canadian report states. not even considering the damaging of a woman's body in some abortions. and a open and healthy sex life is just as much as a fallacy. how many people have to die before people realize that sex is not free. that there are high price to pay unwanted pregnancies sexual diesies broken families. so maybe this people care more about people then you think. here is just an abortion information. here is a quote about science from the founder of modern science.

A little science estranges a man from God; a lot of science brings him back.". . . Sir Francis Bacon

Why should Christians defend science when alot of it is mere speculation when the Bible is absolute truth written by a God who cannot and will not lie. He created everything that we try to explain in science. Christians make no attempt to control anyone but rather to follow their Saviour.
As far as the gender roles, youv'e have got to be kidding. Of all the religions of the world women have more freedom and liberty than in any other. God created all things with an order.
God is the only one that gives life and He is the only one that has the authority to take it.
God gave us all a freewill to choose between right and wrong.
Sex was instituted for marriage.
Finally you will find that any country that has ceased to follow God has soon after fallen.

I'm not against technology, just how some of is used.
Internet is great for learning, but pornography is terrible.

As far as abortion, where does killing unborn babies, who have no way to defend themselves, a way of preserving life? If that is idiotic thinking, I don't know what is.
EVOLUTION IS A THEORY, NOT A FACT. Science cannot prove this.
Diversity is not an issue in Christianity, for it is never brought up in the Bible.

I have stated this many times -
those who don't believe in the Bible have two issues:
they don't understand WHY God presented it this way and,
they would be accountable to its writings if they found it to be truth. If the latter applies, they would have to give up their lifestyles they deeply enjoy. For this they do not wish to do.
The benefits of the Bible I cannot explain here, for I would run far out of space.
At least explore this possiblility

G-- gave Adam the truth and wanted him to stay away from the lie. By creating his own thoughts over facts, reality, and reason over that of G--'s he found lie and shame and deceit. Your truth and facts are yours and others. Great. I will not try to convince you other wise. Not today. For G-- will do that tomorrow.

yes i believe so, no one followes the commandments of God and fall short of his Glory,, im really not sure of your question but i do know that christians fall and they sin and that is why Jesus died for our sins and we will sin ,, he said i take away your sin past , present , and , future , so that means that he knows we are going to sin but if you Love him for sacrificing himself for our sins then you would want to do as God would do and turn from your old ways.

No. They are allowed their opinions as well. Just wish they would stop telling other people what their opinions should be.
