How can we be so cold-hearted and take their dreams away??Okay fine, they crossed the border illegally, they wouldn't have done so if the border was secure! They are here now, do you think it's really possible to deport all of them?? If not what is your solution?

The thing is that the employers actually seek them out and encourage them to come here and now to stab them in the back is just messed up. They are doing jobs that no one wants. People keep saying that the unemployed in America will step up and take these jobs that is bullshit the unemployed make more money off welfare and than the immigrant workers make. Also the same jobs are available to them they just aren't going for them. There are never enough janitors I work in a hospital and getting janitors there is hard it takes forever to fill the spot even though it pays more than $15 an hour and offers full medical and vision and life insurance...yet those Americans that lost their jobs to the immigrants aren't taking that job so what the hell? Let them stay, people are just saying they are taking their jobs to make excuses.

Yes it is possible to deport most we will never get all but if we nothing it sends a message to keep coming eventually they we get amnesty.
It is a slap in the face to all that fallow the laws.
It is not being cold hearted to want a secure nation it is not right that they use up resources set aside for legal Americans. IE.health care, welfare.
you say they would not have broken our laws on immigration if we had a secure border they knew it was illegal but did it anyway. So now they are here knowing we have other laws what are the laws they are going to fallow now. We should first make a heavy fine for anyone that hires an illegal immigrant and if they do it again close the Company down. Then if anyone is caught renting to an illegal immigrant should first time heavy fine the second time they lose the house. Every time they go to the hospital we should by all means help them with the best medical care we have at the time but then before they leave be turned over to the law to be deported.
We should build more prisons and any illegal immigrant caught the second time will spend five yrs in prison but theses prisons should be work farm prisons that way they grow what eat came to work and it off sets the cost for them being in there.
But the first thing is to Start

The reason American people are making such a big issue,is because it IS a BIG issue!!! Probably the BIGGEST one most of us will face in OUR lifetime!!! The FIRST thing is,they BROKE the law to get into the country, and should NOT be rewarded for it!! And maybe that doesn't SEEM LIKE MUCH to you,but there are LAWS for a REASON! What if some of US said,"i need money to feed my family,i think i"ll go ROB a convenience store" It's just a small store, it's NOT like i'm robbing a BANK"!!! Because they needed money to buy food for their family, does that make it any LESS a crime?? Understandable, maybe, but STILL a crime!!! And,what about the STORE OWNER??? HE has a family to FEED too, and bills to pay!!! So,the person who TAKES from someone else,is still a criminal, and causes the INNOCENT person to SUFFER because they broke the law,and committed the crime!! EVERYONE who sneaked across our borders,HAVE committed a crime,no matter WHAT their reasons!
The problem with illegals, is they COST the taxpayers!! SO, innocent, hardworking, middleclass people are having to PAY the cost!!! It is NOT that American people don't feel sorry for poor people, just LOOK how MANY times Americans have GIVEN to others in need!!! The problem with the illegals from mexico is, there are ALREADY 11-20 MILLION here, with MORE sneaking in DAILY!! AND,the senate amnesty bill would allow MILLIONS more to come here,PLUS, the familys of those already here!!! MOST of these people are uneducated, poverty level people (and NO that is NOT a racist remark)so, anyTAXES they might pay in would amount to nothing!! And with the Earned Income Credit, they would actually be getting BACK more than they PAID in!!! And,WHERE does the extra money come from???RIGHT,the taxpayers!!! And i know some of you have asked "why aren't we complaining about the Canadian border"?? Well, because we do NOT have MILLIONS of people coming into the U.S. through the CANADIAN border!!! We can NOT afford for MILLIONS more foreigners to come into the country, unchecked!!! They are costing the taxpayers BILLIONS of dollars in social services every year. There is ALREADY such a flood of foreign labor, that it is getting HARDER for LEGAL citizens to get jobs!!! Do you think THAT is right???!!! I DO NOT!!!!!

Whats the matter with you, are you nuts, we don't want the population of Mexico and South America in the U.S. no country can take that many poor and survive, it wouldn't hurt to try and deport at least the ones that have only been here for 2 years children and all, we did legalize in the 80's and it didn't do any good that just made more people come, if we don't stop them we will be over run, Mexico and south America can not export their poor here. The solution is deportation and as many as possible.

Amnesty encourages more to come. The ten year statute of limitations in the Senate Bill is a 'rolling' amnesty which would act as an engraved invitation.

If I got real border security and enforceable employer sanctions I'd legalize screened illegals, but NOT also let them bring in more family under a special preference. Otherwise, once they are permanent residents they would have the right to bring in family, not under existing quotas. That is too many poor people for our schools and services to support. In fact, those here are too many. I just don't see us actually deporting all of those families.

I would scrap the guest worker program until we determine if we need more and how many. They are trying to flood the country with cheap labor and make taxpayers pick up the bills for schools and health care, etc.

Most of us had parents/ grandparents/ whomever come over to this country from another one. However, they did it legally. They waited in line until they were accepted. They worked hard to learn the language, get good jobs, get their children educated. They tried to become assimilated Americans. That's why America was called "The great melting pot." The illegal immigrants from south of the border are, for the most part, under-educated, have few if any job skills, send any money they can back out of the country and utilize a huge amount of public services which they don't pay for through taxes. But probably the biggest problem for most Americans is the fact that they don't learn the language. They never try to assimilate. They always intend to go back "home" after they've earned enough money. But of course, they never do. They stay here earning less than minimum wage, inundate our medical system, and add nothing beneficial to our society. Plus, when baby-boomers retire, who is going to be adding money to the Social Security System? Do the people coming here, willing to take below minimum-wage jobs allow employers to not hire citizens at decent salaries? OR, are they a vibrant wave of new members of our republic and a wonderful addition to our country. Take you pick.

No, they wouldn't have crossed the border if their political leaders had been providing a better quality of life for it's citizens. There are many people from various countries that apply for and receive visas to come into the United States -- they had to wait. Those who crossed the Mexican/United States borders are not the only ones here illegally. There are those who entered --legally- on student visas and are now no where to be found --but they are suppose to be in school. There are people who come here on visitor visas and now they are nowhere to be found. The one thing those who have visas had to do -- WAIT. Those south of the border couldn't or wouldn't.

Whether the illegal immigrants are allowed to stay or made to leave, the bottom line, it is going to cost the taxpayers money. It already does. The federal government allocates billions of dollars a year to hospitals that treat illegla immigrants, yet, Congress can't come up with a National Health care system that would take care of millions of uninsured Americans. Now to me, there's something really wrong with that picture. What does Americans have to do, go out and come back in as immigrants to get adequate health insurance for themselves and their children.

Nope, W, conservative politicians, and the religious right are too busy writing discrimination into the constitution. Americans don't need health care, we need to stop the gay people from changing the definition of marriage and what a family is. Some people are so concerned in America about the gay people, the religious pundits forget that God said take care of the widows and orphans. Currently, Americans aren't doing well in either category.

Is it really possible to deport them all -- yes, it's possible. Those who are here illegally and have been convicted of crimes, according to immigration law, are suppose to have been deported.

It would be one thing if they were coming here to get a better education and then returning to their country to help their fellow citizens obtain a better quality of life, however, I don't hear any of that going on.

A solution to immigration, the situation is damned if you do and damned if you don't. Either way, bottom line --it's going to cost the taxpayers whether they are allowed to stay or go. One solution would be to put pressure on the political leadership in Mexico to increase the quality of life for their citizens, better housing, better education, living wages, etc.

AGAIN

It's not so much immigration as it is colonization, or La Reconquista. They will tell you anything to believe it isn't true.

Bush is not for Amnesty, and neither am I. According to Arnold, it will cost 500 billion dollars to deport them.

The end result will be the same. We are going to lose Califonia, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and Utah if not others and our politicians will feed us bull to accept it.

I bet you know nothing about the murders everyday and the over 260 'incursions', putting it nicely, between the border patrol and the Mexican army protecting drug smugglers and human traffickers and other things. You government doesn't want you to know about that though, do they? They seem helpless and needing charity and alot do, but they have been trained to act that way by the Mexican government. Maybe your in Ohio, who knows, and don't care if we lose states. If enough people think that...we will.

First of all we should have a completely secure border....period!! And we dont, and even if we did ....we wouldn't have as many illegals as we do now, currently!!!

2nd...obviously we cant deport the millions of people who have somehow made lives here for themselves, and it's our system that has allowed them to remain here and continue with their lives....that has to change, our system has to change.

3rd, if they get on the books and pay taxes, keep their jobs, speak or learn english when out in your feild of work, or conducting business. We don't speak any other language in this Country ....primarily other than English!

The only problem I have sara with illegals is that if you or I, tax payers of this Country just sit back and allow the Country to be flooded with Illegal Immigrants then you are paying a price for that everytime you get paid, your tax $$$ are going to help pay for those illegals free rides in this country. I never got a free ride, so is that fair???

well its like this is it right to keep the wrong change if its in your favor? no do people do it? yeah all the time should it be legal to steal that money because everyone does. no sorry it is stealing but whats a few dollars what about the person giving you the change are they not ultimatly responsible for that money. and a lot not all but a lot of illegal immigrents make money here but send it bakc home so they are not helping and if they have a stolen identity so that they can be here that just makes it worse. you cant cheat and expect to win at some point you have to cut your losses or get caught
