i had this problem with my kitten. dip cottonballs in warm milk and clean her eyes with them. the milk will also encourage mama to lick them and this is what really cleans them up. it is fairly normal for the eyes to mat up until they can properly groom themselves. however, if there is any pus or discharge, i would urge you to go to the vet.

I have had this problem with some kittens and older cats earlier. After the kitten opens its eyes if the issue persists wash the eyes gently with a warmth moist rag. once the eyes are open i exploit Bacitracine on the exterior of the eyes the position that's usually pink and somewhat comfortable. you need to bathe the eyes 2 to three situations an afternoon gently and reapply the Bacitracine each and each and every time. If after a week the problem remains recent or has gotten worse then you ought to really see a vet. BTW Bacitracine is an antibiotic ointment that individuals use for cuts and scrapes yet dont use Neosporin or any version of that using the undeniable fact that's likewise medicated and could make the kitten ill. wish this facilitates and once you've the different questions about this you are able to e-mail me and ask.

We have 4 kittens at our house that are almost 5 weeks old. We just went through this with them. At about 2 weeks old, just when their eyes began to open, they began closing shut again. I called our vet right away. I didn't have to take them in. Apparently this is a common occurrence and I was given an eye drop. We used cotton balls dipped in warm water to clean their eyes and when we got them opened a little, we'd put one drop in to each eye. We did get quite a bit of pus out of the eyes and once we got that out and had used the drops 3 times a day for 10 days, their eyes were fine. Do not wait to call the vet as if there is infection it can cause blindness.

Wash with warn water and a wash cloth, dry then put a very thin layer of Vaseline on the kittens eye lid that should help or it may go away on it's own. if it doesn't improve in a week or two take it to the vet. It may be infected.

Take a warm cloth to them every morning and see if that deters the goo. It will definitely get their eyes open. If not, they may have some kind of infection which the vet will have to treat due to the age. Good luck!!

Awe the poor little thing! Maybe she has an infection? Usually the mama kitty keeps them clean. How old is she? Maybe she was weaned too soon. If water and cotton balls don't work, or if it is yellow or green colored or if it gets worse it might be an infection and you will need to take her to a vet for kitty ophthalmic antibiotic ointment.
