if your an adult 24yrs old... then they should back off on most subjects (depending on if your still living under their roof)... as long as you are the sole supporter of yourself then they should and will....but remember it is hard for them to do... they have taken care of you for so long.. its hard to stop ... and let go of their baby... tell them "Mom/Dad I love you" then end the conversation. if it doesnt work...I would tell them just what you said in your question... "I dont mean to be rude and I appreciate your love and concern,,, but Im an adult now and I have to make some decisions on my own... weather it is the right choice or wrong ... I need to be able to take care of myself and learn form my own accomplishments and/or failures" and always tell them you love them...

I've had this problem with my mother. I've tried talking to her but nothing seems to work. The only thing I've learned is to ignore her remarks as best as I can and limit my contact. This sometimes means making excuses to get off the phone. It's not perfect but it works for me.

Give them hints such as, "That wasn't very nice..." or "Why you being so rude?" and if they say something like tough luck... punch them!.... no just don't do that.... you should tell them straight forward to stop it if they have gone to far
