I have read through my bible at least 3 times. Maybe lacking in some of the psalms and proverbs because there are so many and I do loose track.

It took me about 30 to 40 days of dedication the first time I read it thorugh. I suggest your first entire read be like reading it like a novel. Reading it in this way yielded the best general understanding for me at first. I had a study bible at the time that helped me understand certain concepts or passages that were perplexing.
