Quinine is used to treat malaria that is why it's in tonic water. Tonic means curative. Popular in gin in tonic in the british empire especially in places where malaria is common like Africa and India. Malaria is spread by mosquitos. Malaria is one of the top ten deadliest disease in the world. I think HIV just replaced it.
Anyways club soda is just carbonated water that is manmade as opposed to natural sources like Perrier, Gerolsteiner, and Apollinarius. You'll see all of these in the booze section of your grocery or perhaps a booze store. Hope you liked the history lesson and beware of the tropics that's where the malaria lives.

Go to a wine store in our area and pick up a soda (too many brands to mention) and a Schweppes Tonic Water. Taste the difference.
U will know about a soda.
Tonic water is a mixer. Mix the contents with any white spirit eg: Gin, Vodka, White Rum etc. Drop a slice of lime, ice and a mint leaf. U will love it. CHEERS!!!
