The male cat is the daddy of the kittens, so do I keep him away from the kittens and for how long??? And is it ok if we let her come out of the room and visit with us for awhile if she goes back in the room later?? She won't go to the bathroom in the room, she will come out and use the liter box in the kitchen is that ok??????

Some male cats are actually good dads. Simply keep an eye on him at first. If the mom doesn't get up set about him being around it should be ok. I had a big orange Tom cat that was a very protective father.

It is OK for mom to leave the room to use the litter box, she won't leave the kittens for very long (at first). The older the kittens get the longer she will leave them.

And it is OK to handle the kittens occasionly. I have held kittens that were minutes old. The more you handle and talk to them while they are small the tamer they will be.

I agree with hollyhock Momma will not let daddy hurt them and she will know his intintoions if she has a problem with him then seperate adn on the potty thing you need to see if you cant get her to use the little box in the room.. kittens learn potty training from mum and if they are never exposed to seeing her you may not get them potty trained..... if all else fails move them out of the room when the turn about 4 week old and closer to the litter box where they can observe mum....

Definitly keep the dad away if he hisses at them cause he can kill them when my cat had her kittens the dad saw them and was hissing at them but if he doesnt he can stay with them . It is ok to let the mom come out of the room to visit you and ur family cause i would let my cat out and it was ok

Yes. Especially if he isn't the daddy.
Male cats will sometimes attack and kill offspring sired by another male.

Some males are dangerous some are not. I would think to slowly introduce them to him & observe his demeanor. It would be safest to not let him in with them unattended.
