I think the funnest way is to work in elementary schools. But since you're in high school, I'm sure you don't have the time. See if there's an after school program or something.

talk to your local service organizations (kiwanis, rotary, etc.), the local church organizations, find the homeless or battered women's shelter. also, you could contact locks for love and organize a hair drive at your high school. organizing something like that or a clean-up drive, coats for kids, canned food drive, etc. would be better than just racking up hours at an activity that you don't really care about. i assume you are trying to look good for colleges/scholarships. they care about depth not breadth (do less, but be more involved instead of do a lot, but never get too into it). good luck.

Help out with your school's PTO group, Volunteer at your local boy's and girl's club as a mentor.

elementry field days are alot of fun and you get to act like a kid again. church, um, baby sitting (w/o pay). you can let someone's child (young-under 8) hang out with you for a day and have the parents write a letter to the school.
