Some people consider themselves Christians and some say Messianic Jew. However, If you are a Jewish person and you believe in the Torah/Old Testament and you know that The Messiah: "The Anointed One" has come and you have confessed Him as Lord and Saviour according to Romans 10 than you are saved. The same for Christians you believe that the Torah/Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Torah/Old Testament revealed.

Romans 10:8-13

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

And you can't say it is because some of the order in the Christian and Messianic church is different as that is the way with many churches that believe in The True and Living God. Thats why I don't practice denomination but instead the imputed rightousness of Christ.

Thanks 4 the answers. Some of you had said that a Christian cannot be a Jew but the bible says this.

Romans 2:28-29

28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

So Jew is just a term for God's people. Just like the name Israel means. "One who strives with God. This name was given to Abraham's grandson Jacob who was a lier and thief but then became Israel after allowing himslef to be confronted by JEHOVAH.

Yes, they are the same....

Jews who accept The Messiah, Jesus are Christians.
Gentiles who accept Jesus as the Messiah are Christians.

Messianic Jews celebrate the feasts and worship on THE Sabbath, Saturday....
Other Christians celebrate THE Lord's Day, a day set aside to worship Him, on Sunday....
BOTH can be either Jew or Gentile

I think your question is something like 'what (if any) is the difference between a messianic Jew and a Jewish christian?

the answer is that a Jewish christian is a Jewish person who follows the christian faith and is integrated into church (usually gentile) life. a messianic Jew is a Jewish person who still follows the Jewish culture and lifestyle and food laws but also believes in Jesus as the messiah and fulfillment of the prophecies concerning the messiah.

both are saved just a question of how one follows their beliefs in a cultural context

Yes, they are the same. I believe the Messianic Jews like to be called so in order to reach out to fellow Jews. Jews probably see Christianity as foreign, but would find it easier to connect with Messianic Jews. Plus, Messianic Jews might choose that name to show that even though they believe Jesus is the Messiah, they're still Jews.

It is the preaching work that makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ's command:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

Jesus personally instructed his disciples to go door-to-door. Clearly, Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones working to perform the same type of work in our day. What did Jesus personally say about any who would disregard that important work?

(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest. 3 Go forth. Look! I am sending you forth as lambs in among wolves. ...16 “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards [also] him that sent me forth.”

Yeah, their beliefs are the same, but religion is more than that. Your confusing religion with faith. Faith is nothing more than what you believe. Period. Religion is an entity consisting of followers of said faith that form their own culture within themselves. Sure, they both may believe the same thing, but their religions are different because their culture is different

Hmmm...interesting.

What else does Messianic Jews believe? (Curious)

Do they believe that "JESUS" was the Messiah in question - or do they think it was someone else?

I have no idea of this group. Anyone care to enlighten me?

thanks.

I do not exactly follow you---but of course Christianity is an offshoot of Judism -- considered a cult by many Jews!

Did you know that if you believe in one God, you are a Muslim? All monotheists are Muslims. Happy Ramadan!
