Noah was informed by God that there would be a flood
coming in just 70 years. He had enough time to build a boat
and collect two animals from each species. And aboard
the worlds biggest ship.

If God didn't give them the ability to eat other things there were 7 of each kind of clean animals on the ark. Most people have never read their Bible and they believe the lie they were taught in Sunday School when they were young. The common lie about this is that animals went on the ark by two the male and female. The true is that all clean animals and all birds when on by sevens. Example 7 cows and 7 bulls. When Noah got off the Ark he made a sacrifice of each clean animal. If there were only two cows the male and female on the ark then we would not be eating hamburgers today. Genesis 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Genesis 7:3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. Genesis 8:20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. The unicorn was on the earth over 2000 years after Noah got off the ark. The unicorn may have been like the mule. The Mule does not reproduce. They come from a female horse and a male jackass .The mule we have today was not on the ark. Isaiah 34:7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness

More that just two of each were taken. Simple logic says that the animals had to eat, along with Noah's family.

Metaphor sweet pea, the bible isn't to be taken literally, it's an explanation for our knowledge at the time.
I think they ate the animals that were drowned during the flood and where left on the ground.

They didn't. The stories in the bible aren't to be taken factual. Most of it doesn't make sense, and the parts that seem somewhat fesable aren't very inportant to us. If you go by the bible, read it with the intent to follow its teachings of being a good person and not as a history textbook.

"And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he." (Genesis 6:21,22) So God made sure that Noah and his family and the animals were taken care of. It is just as Jesus said at Mark 10:27: --With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."
