Jesus wasn't white, he was a Jew, and from what I've read, he was probably black or very dark-skinned.

There is no indicator that Jesus was white, he was of Jewish heritage and was therefore had and looked quite Jewish - now as far as do I know any white men who have hair that feels like wool - yes I actually do - my Daddy, my nephew and my son, all have dark brown hair and it is kinky and woolly feeling - and for those who cannot resist the temptation, no, being one who has analyzed our genealogy to great lengths as to know that my son is the 5th great-grandson of Davy Crockett and my father is a descendant from the Nez Perce tribe, I have yet to come up with any black people in the family tree, but I would not be ashamed if I did. They would still be my family and I would be glad to go back and find those that are living and share the knowledge I have gained and our heritage together. They are the only three in our family who have this type of hair. Mine was exceptionally curly and auburn until the after 40 and it is slowly turning a dark ash brown and has become very think and straigh, but my dr. says it is due to strong seizure medications that I am on.. The others were born with their hair that way! Of course my Daddy is now totally gray haired and it mostly gone, but my son and nephew still have very dark and woolly curly hair and they hate it! As one is extremely freckled and the other one is very, very pale skinned and doesn't hardly tan.

Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus at age 32 had hair like wool? It just is not there. In the O.T., God is described as having hair "white as wool". This is not about texture but about color.

And just what do you mean by the term "white"?

Some anthropologists say there are three races: caucasian, mongoloid, and *******.

Caucasian includes Jews. Jesus was a Jew.

I don't know what color he is now, nor does it matter. But when he walked on earth he was JEWISH and as a Jew of that era he was no darker than the average Jew or Arab.

As for the Muslims take on that scripture you're hinting at - its symbolic. His head in that vision was white - meaning his face too. However - like I said - that was "Symbolic" not a racial issue. You cant find any racial issue from Jesus or his disciples. They did not go around pointing at their skin and calling that color Holy.

The Scripture (Revelation 1:14) said his Head AND his Hair were white like wool - not white like a Caucasian. His eyes were like a blazing fire (glowing) ....., and in verse 15... His legs (if you read on) were like glowing bronze as when it is heated - not burned but heated - not cooled but glowing as in hot. Ever see glowing bronze?

Why is it Muslims from Louis Farrakhan's NOI brand of Islam want to turn the Bible into a race issue.

NON THE LESS - any white people who insist Jesus was white are dead wrong as well.

When Jesus appeared to the two Apostles the first time after the resurrection along the road, they did not recognize him at first so there was a change in his appearance AFTER his resurrection. I promise you, if Jesus head and hair was literally white as snow, his eyes glowing like a burning fire and his legs burning bronze - that would have terrified them! There would have been mention of this strange man's appearance in detail. Jesus looked different somehow but its not stated. They assumed he was a regular guy, most likely still looked Jewish.

So if you use your mind for something besides racial bigotry you have to assume intelligently the description in Revelation was "Symbolic".

May God melt away the racial hate in your heart and the racial hate in other people's heart. JESUS WAS A JEW - Deal with it.

LASTLY -Muhammad was a White Man (not that it matters) - SO SAY THE HADITHS!

Their is no proof that Jesus is white. The bible though was passed down in the Roman society who were white. Christianity is a white supreme religion so when people started to believe the new testament they automatically made Jesus white. In their mind Jesus couldn't be black for he would be lower than man. (They of course thought that whites were true man) I think they forgot about love your neighbor as your self. Hair is totally another question. The bible describes Jesus in little true body terms and in more semaphores.

For myself, I've never assumed that Jesus was white. That would totally go against where he was born and raised. Not a whole lot of white people in that part of the world at that time!
See, the problem is, when Jesus is portrayed in movies or in pictures, the artists make Him white. Tall, white and very good looking... which also goes against the Old Testament prophecy about Jesus.

J.C was middle eastern, and Jewish, so he probably had an olive ( dark tan)complexion, and black or dark brown curly hair. The reason he is portrayed as white is because in the early days of the church, artwork that wasn't religious were all but outright banned. So in order for artists to carry on with what they do best, most of their subjects turned to be religious in nature.Given that these artists were European, the models they used were also European. It was not easy to get a middle eastern Jew to Venice, back in the 1200's! And by that time, the standard was all ready set, and other artists just followed the current trends.

Jesus was born a jew. There is no black or white. Take a look at Jerusalem. The people their have hair like wool, but they aren't black or white. Some are more fair complected than others, but the majority of them are jews. Proof, there is none, because in Jesus time racism was because of your tribe, not your color.

Jesus was Jewish. Browned skin. A little bit of us all in Him.
He had hair like wool?? That's interesting. Never heard that before. Where do you find that in the Bible?

Don't get to caught up on Jesus looked, though he wasn't white or black he was Jewish from Judea - and thats not the middle east by the way. If it was really important how Jesus looked thered be a whole book just describing his physical appearence, but theres not. The true important thing is that Jesus Christ was the son of God and our saviour. But just for knowing sake Jesus didn't have long hair:
1 Corinthians 11:14
Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
Just remember its not what he looks like its what he says
:)

In the book of Revelations, Jesus is described as having skin of bronze and hair of wool. The Bible doesn't say that Jesus is white and it doesn't say that he's black either. Jesus is Jewish and that's that.
