yes there were. before and after. the old testament referred to them as cushites(ethiopia was known as cush). in the new testament phillip teaches and baptises an ethiopian. there were a lot of trade routes by land and sea and a lot of multi-cultural contact. at the pentacost where the holy spirit was given, there were people present from all over the known world(acts).

Of course there were hon! All types of people lived during Jesus' life here, black, white, brown and one suspiciously purple fella they accused of getting into the beets (but that's another story lol)
My understanding is that when Mary and Joseph fled after Jesus birth, they went to Ethiopia and lived for a few years in peace.

There were no Negroids present in Israel during Jesus's time. Skeletons unearthed in the area and found to be from that time via carbon dating have had many DNA tests run on them. All skeletons tested thus far show these people to be Caucasoid.

as Israel was so close to the African continent it was highly likely that ******* descended people were in evidence
they reckon that the chap pulled out of the crowd to help Jesus with the carrying of the cross was black and hence stood out when the solders wanted to pick someone out for the task

Black people were in the middle east. That's why theirs a controversy in what skin color was Jesus. Many think he was whitish. He could actually been brown.
