I need a vehicle-van or SUV with decent MPG and reliability. Any great used experiences or horror stories? Bad vans? Help!!?

Go the the library and ask for an April Consumer Reports Magazine
- any year. It has a list of best and worst buys
in the back. It's muh used car buying bible...always will be!!!
Toyota Rav-4 will pretty much run until you decide to park it.
Toyota Corolla is good and has excellent fuel efficiency.
Surprisingly the luxury cars don't have a lot of long term
reliability. The Honda CR-V is good. If you want a car,
the Ford Escort and Geo Metro or Storm are good
American (Domestic) Choices. The PT cruiser is
highly recommended. Again, get that Consumer
Reports - The Good/Bad list is one one page - 10 cents
per copy. Happy car shopping!!!

I have a Honda Accord and it has been a great car. I have had it since 2002 and it is a 1997. It has almost 185000 miles on it and i still get great gas mileage out of it. It has had some problems but most of them were caused by Wal-mart and their stupidity when it comes to changing oil. Anyway it has been an awesome car and very dependable. Hope this helps.

My Odyssey gets about 25 on the highway, but is a BIG van.

Check with your Toyota dealer for recently returned leased cars. Often they have been well maintained and will last a long time plus you'll probably get good gas mileage.

Never purchase a chevy venture. EVER. they are the worst van ever. ours was always in teh shop.
