Why do people treat their dogs like they're human?

I hate dogs.

Dogs suck.

because turtles would rule the world if humans stopped talking in that goo goo ga ga voice they do with their dogs. that voice tortures the turtles and keeps them calm and hiding. otherwise TURTLES WOULD rip through homes and eat the dogs then the humans and make the chickens their queens. :)

I am not real big on dogs but I dont hate them,but my cats are just like my children they eat with us my one cat has to be in the bathroom when I take a bath or shower they go to bed with us when its bedtime.And they get under my feet just like a toddler does. I don't think its the animal (Dog) itself just that its there pet and some people are closer to there pets than others and dogs make good companions they say a dog is mans best friend.

My dog is treated like my child because she acts like a human and if u don't like dogs stay out of this category u doghater! Don't hate on us cause u want all the love that the dog is getting instead of u!

So you like chickens chicken boy? Well, I think dogs ROCK. People treat them like humans because in a way they are, just furrier, smaller, and they just can't speak our language. They're probably smarter than some people, and they're better at hunting, sniffing, hearing, and they're faster. We treat them like humans because they're just like best friends, siblings, children, or just companions. Just like you like chickens, people like dogs. And dogs do NOT suck, and if you hate dogs, keep it to yourself because dogs rule, and they don't say on chats I hate chicken boys do they??????

Some people are more sensity than other and they identify themselve with a kind of pet and they take care ,give affection and the animals have a special way of showing how happy they are with their care giving.

Because dogs love unconditionally. It doesn't matter what you look like or how much money you have, love your dog and he loves you no matter what.

You are missing so much by wasting time hating dogs. If you had a bad experience with one, perhaps you should consider therapy to help you overcome your fear.

i love my dogs more than i love my family.yes they give me unconditional love no matter what.they know when im not felling well.my new puppy 7 months old german shepard mix.follows me every where/every time i get up shes right behind me.she sheds a lot but i wouldnt give her up for any thing.my other fur baby is a small bichon.she is very jealous of brandy.so one stays in kitchen one in living room.but i give each equal attention.they both know i love them to death.

My dog (a stray) has eyes that are very human-like. My roommate once told me she thinks our dog is like a human, and said something about her dead grandma. It was creepy.

my mom talks to her dog I would not mind so much if she would lower the pitch of her voice. she says she does it because she thinks that on some level she can understand but i know she does it because she wants some one to listen to her and her kids are growing up and leaving and she needs some one to talk to.
