She should be on adult now that she is a year old and it is too late to give her puppy food and it would just be wasting ur money. But what u can do is buy her GOOD quality adult food like: Nurto, California Natural, Innova, Canidae (just 2 name a few). These r all great foods(no by-products) that u can give her that will give her the best nutrition possible. When u do switch foods do it over a couple of days from old food to new food so she doesn't get sick due 2 the quick change. Good luck and good job in stepping up and wanting the best care for her.

Like other peoples answers I will agree that you need to give your dog adult food. Stay away from Purina products, Iams, Hills Science Diet. These are highly advertised products, but for the money very poor quality. If in doubt on what to feed your dog, check out the site below. If you are going to switch, make it gradual. Add a little to your dogs current kibble, and increase the quantity every three to four days. That way it is a subtle change, not one that is real drastic. I fed my dogs Iams for 5 years, because it came highly recommended by my vet. When I found out that it was essentially crap in a bag, I did some research and settled on the Canidae. It has a 5***** star rating. Where Iams is only a one.

The really good quality adult dog foods actually are Ok for a pup after they stop growing like a weed, but before they stop altogher. I go with the good quality adult food - if she has a tiny bit of growing left to do (a few dogs can grow to 13 -14 months) than that'll be enough nutrition.

I feed mine puppy food until about 4-6 months of age, depending on whether they tend to be thin or not.. But I swtich to adult food right around 4-6 months. They do not really need all that extra protien and fat. Just make sure you are feeding a good quality kibble. Stay away from corn products, wheat and yeast.. These cause allergies in most dogs.
Don't switch to puppy food now..

At 1 year old, she is probably too old for puppy food now and needs adult dog food. Plus, if she has been eating it almost all her life, why change it?

Definitely too late to go to puppy food at this stage.
You didn't mention what breed of dog, but many people with large breed dogs start their dogs on adult food on purpose. Puppy food can allegedly cause large breed dogs to grow too quickly too fast and exacerbate health conditions like Pano. I kept my last pup on high quality adult food.

At a year old, she should be about grown. I would continue with the adult food. Maybe get a higher quality of food if you have been feeding a cheaper brand.

changing a dog's food makes the dog a finicky eater, and the dog is no longer a puppy and at a year has pretty much grown as much as she is going to grow
