a fishing lisence is around 20 bucks. you have to go to your town office to get one. you can also get one at a fishing shop believe it or not. the reason you need a fishing lisence is because the town does not want under age kids drinking on the beach at night. this also disturbs the fisherman who complain to the town about kids all over the beach at night. a fishing lisence is a way to make sure that kids stay off the beaches at night. it is also so that night fisherman have a place to park at night

Depends what state you are in...
As low as $10 and as high as $25 or more for endorsements like shellfish, lobsters, and such (in California).
You need one because if you don't fish and game will give you a ticket. Which is way more expensive than the license that is good for one calendar year. Depends on how remote of place you are fishing. If it is only once out in the boondocks you are probably OK without one. But if you are on a lake or bay on a crowded holiday weekend you could get written up.

In Oregon a fishing license cost $24.75 if you are over the age of 18 and $6.75 if you are between 14 and 17 y/o. The money goes to help support the sport.

Usually around $15-25 if you want to fish for the year or around $160 for a lifetime. A license allow you catch and keep a certain size and weight fish.

generally they are around fifteen dollars, you have to have one if you are sixteen or older because its just illegal to fish without one...you need a license to fish, hunt, or pretty much do anything for that matter... you can avoid getting a license by fishing at a pay lake, unless I am mistaken its not illegal to fish without a fishing license at a pay lake... Not for sure why or if the law applys in Oregan but thats how it is in Kentucky :0)

It varies from state to state and only if you fish in public waters. Private lakes are exempt from licensing. The money usually funds stocking and parks and wildlife type stuff.

It's only 13.oo here in IL. The money is used to maintain/managed/stock lakes, ponds, and some rivers. Helps cleanup the parks (state/local parks) as well. Trout/Salmon stamps (5.oo each) is used to help stock trout/salmon in lake michigan.
