I have naturally curly hair (I'm bi-racial, so it's quite curly but not kinky). I like to flat iron my hair, and I currently use a "hair art" flat iron. The thing is, though, that my hair when it's flat ironed is still a little puffy! I mean I can straighten it and it's pretty straight, but when if I catch a breeze or play around with my hair, it gets puffy! So usually I have to braid my hair or put it in a bun, which gets boring! What can I do about this? I think I might a better flat iron...what's the BEST one for hair like mine?

If you go to a beauty supply store purchase a Chi Iron. They run for about $99 but it is the best out there and is used by many stylists. The Chi product line could help you achieve the results your looking for.

I have really curly hair too and I currently use a ConAir. It works pretty well for a cheap iron, but if you want the best get a Chi-turbo. The turbo is best for black hair and in your case bi-racial, becuase it gets hotter than the normal flat irons. They run about 120-200$, but are definitely worth it, so if you have the money to get one i would, if not, ConAir works fine for me, but it is still a little frizzy.
PS: If you get a thinner iron it works much better.
Hope that helps

As almost everyone else has suggested, the chi flat iron works really well. It's a little expensive but well worth it. I actually bought mine for $80 online. You'll love this flat iron I guarantee.

Maybe you need to use different product on your hair to keep it from getting puffy. It sounds like your flat iron is doing what it's supposed to do. Try some anit-frizz serums or things like that until you find one that works for your hair.

I use a Conair flat iron...my hair is curly also and it works great on my hair! Plus if you get some kind of hair product to use it might help...maybe you should visit your local salon and ask a hairdresser for her opinion.

Sedu is widely regarded as one of the most effective and the best. Many celebrities swear by this one (or their hairdressers dol) AND--you want to use a protective serum or conditioner with a flatiron if your hair is curly.
Links below to great price on a Sedu:

As most people have suggested, Chi iron is the BEST. The majority
of Pros. use it and recommend them. It works wonders. Use with an oil protector and you will look SENSATIONAL, and people will ask you who did your hair.
