Tell her thanks for the wonderful cat. Clearly you and your Dad have been caring for the cat for over a year with no help from her. If she cared about him even a little, she would see that to take him away from you guys now because that would be cruel to the cat. She should be grateful that she found him a good home with people who really care about him. After 16 months the cat is no longer hers.
Tell her that if now she is ready for the life-long commitment of owning an animal she should go to the Humane Society and get one.

I remember reading (somewhere) that it's much more important to a dog to remain with the person it's grown attached to, even when they move to a completely different location. However, that cats are much more happy to stay where they are accustomed to being, than to move away with the people they are accustomed to. 16 months is a long time. You do the 'math'. If your sis' was supposed to pay you all along, but hasn't, I'd think she relinquished any rights of ownership. Esp. if you've had the cat longer than originally agreed upon.

You might like to share them with your sister, to help explain how you feel about the cat. My guess is that she'll understand, and opt to get another cat, even if she lives too far to visit it often. I hope everything works out amicably! Sincerely, MakeSure1Th5:21

I would explain the situtation to her and let her know that if she wants the cat back then she should pay up. If she does not pay up then let her know that you have grown attached to the cat and plan on keeping her.

I think you should tell her just what you told us. The cat is attached to you now, he is no longer hers. He will be traumatized if she removes him. Tell her to get another cat. Tell her if she tries to take him, you will all end up on Judge Judy's show.

You should keep YOUR cat you feed him, worked with him until he was not skittish. Your sister has not paid you any of the money. So you should keep YOUR cat.

well.......try to explain how you feel and maybe you could get her another one....if she can't understand that then she is being unreasonable.....and if that is how she is start World War 3 and keep it and feel justified about it......Good Luck
Besides that the cat doesn't know her now....that would be mean to him.....tell her that too
