For example if lying is sinful, I am wondering how many lies would it take for me to be hell bound. Also how good do I have to be to get to heaven?

All of your righteousness are as filthy rags to God all men have sinned and come short of the glory of God....man could not live upto the law and thus are condemed to death....salvation doe not depend on your good deeds the only salvation comes from the sacrifice Christ made for you....John 3:16 ...for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Here's the thing ,a sin is a sin whether it's a giant lie or just the so called "white lie" and it says in the bible that the wages of sin is death. So you can end up in hell if you don't ask god for forgiveness. As for heaven, well john 3:16 says it all.We can only get into heaven by believing in Jesus and believing that He died on the cross for your sins and that you make Him you Lord and Saviour.(For He is the Way,the Truth and the Life and no man comes unto the Father but through Jesus, and of course God the Father is in Heaven.)

None. Besides your own sin, you are born in sin passed down from generation, from your parents and grandparents. By default, all of us get condemned to hell in the beginning.

Your goodness, however great it is, cannot get you to heaven. Only Jesus can get you to heaven. It is because of His love to you.

If you believe some of the spiritually 'holier than thou' folks, the sin count is directly related to how bad your hell will be.

Near as I can tell, the only ones who will achieve anything close to some blissful 'heaven' are the ones holding the collection plates.

Just one sin is all it takes to comdemn a person. Repent and trust In Jesus, and you'll be with God in Heaven

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.

EPHESIANS 2:8-9, NIV

God doesn't use a weigh scale to see if your good deeds outweigh your bad deeds.

Start from the beginning there is no hell. It is just a creation from St Thomas de Aquino, and Dante Alighieri that was very handy to the Catholic Church to request your contributions before you expired.
You can be the worst of the worst just remember these words on your last minutes, father on your hands l command my spirit.
Good luck.

Christ died for our sins so we could be forgiven, given a new life and so we would not want to live sinfully anymore. We all have sinned, each one of us and Christ has taken the penalty of our sins, so that we could be forgiven. So, it is Christ who saves us from going to hell. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all will come to repentance. Only in Christ do we have a position of righteousness. It is not of ourselves (our works, our goodness) it is a gift of God's righteousness ( right standing) in his son, Jesus Christ.

A trivial deed can be looked at as a mortal sin, and vice versa. It all depends on whose judging you, man or God.
