why do we assume as adults that we can act like children when answering quiestions posed by children, or adults? why when a question is asked are there 4-30 answers that have rude comments, name calling, and childish behavior? must we all be of 15 years old? can't we grow up?

I never could understand the idiocy of some people. I have asked questions here and find it hurtful with some answers. If I ask out of curiosity, it's turned around as if I were worried to stress about it or complaining when neither is further from the truth. We deserve far more respect than we are clearly getting from people here.
I've always been an outcast because I refuse to be like everyone else. They'll turn this into something I'm not saying. Well, so be it!

Many questions asked here deserve rude answers, if any at all. I suppose that the best way to handle rude questions would be for ALL to NOT answer one word. IF all did this, it would stop. People, myself included, are rude, at times, because we are in a nasty mood (it is these times we should get off the computer, I will admit) and let's face it, most of our best attempts at humor fall flat, and usually, no one else reads our answers anyway. Occasionally, I will get an email of thanks for having helped someone in a small way, but I doubt that I have helped anyone much. And, quite truthfully, you insult children, as a whole, but comparing them to a lot of what I see here..my kids would NEVER act like this. Thanks for the reminder, I think it is needed occasionally. You have hit the nail on the head, and I agree with you, even though I have been as guilty as anyone here at times. Good luck. AND, in fact, a little girl, this week, put me in my place when she wrote me an email and said, "you are older, I thought you should be wiser than to answer like that." She is right! I should be wiser, and I will be ... in fact, other than some fun with obvious jokes for questions, I am trying to tone it down and do what this site is really about.

Um, I don't think it's possible for anybody to truly grow up. We always want to just one up eachother so we're on top. It will always make others feel better to call someone else a name when we don't agree, just like when we were five. It's always been that way and always will be that way.
