1. Start --> search --> all files and folders.
2. Type in name of file you want to delete. You don't have to add the extension (.exe, .txt, .doc, and so on).
3. In drop down menu select My Computer
4. In advanced options make sure there's a check mark next to Hidden Files and Folders; System Folders; and Subfolders
5. Click on search. When search is finished, delete all files and folders found.
6. Restart computer.

If you're truly brave, delete registry entries. (It's a lot easier to use CCleaner and safer.) But if you're brave.....

1. Start --> Run
2. Type in "regedit" (without the quotes) --> OK
3. The registry page will open. Hold down CTRL key and click the letter F
4. Type in the exact same file name you used in step 2, above
5. Click Find Next
6. When a registry item is found, click DEL (or delete key) and answer YES when warning appears
7. Click F3 key (top row of keyboard) --> Find Next. If another item is found, click DEL --> YES --> F3 --> Find Next
8. Keep doing that until it says registry search is finished.
9. Close out registry screen and reboot.

NOTE: If you aren't absolutely sure about messing with the registry. DO NOT DO IT!! Deleting the wrong item can cause your computer to become unstable or crash. CCleaner is a lot easier and safer.

One possible way to rectify your issue is to look for the .cur files in your system and delete those that you think are related to the file(s) you downloaded from internet.

Follow steps below to PERMANENTLY DELETE the files (ANY*) from your computer:

1. Locate the file you want to delete
2. Select that file either using Mouse or Keboard (Whatever you are comfortable with).
3. Hold down the "SHIFT" key on your Keyboard #
4. Press the "DELETE" key on some Keyboards indicated as "Del" key.

A pop-up for permanent deletion confirmation comes up. Answering yes deletes the file where as a No will leave the file intact.
Files deleted using this method cannot be recovered as they are not moved to recycle bin so use this quite carefully. Although I use this everytime I delete a file.

* You can delete only those files which are not being accessed by any other process or person.

# Do not release the key. In other words after selecting the file you need to press the Shift and Delete (Del) Key togather.

Hope this helps.

When u delete a program from Add or Remove program list, u must restart ur computer or some files will remain in the pc making it work normally. Once u restart pc, go to Control Panel, click on Mouse, select Pointers and delete it from the list if its still there.

You may have downloaded a spyware or malware (this is especially true if the parts left over include advertisements). What you have to do is find a spyware cleaner and scan your system. I suggest downloading the free Adaware SE Personal Edition (found on www.pcworld.com/52516) and scanning your system (trust me, this program can easily be removed from add/remove programs :D). Next, run CCleaner to delete any left over files (can also found on www.pcworld.com/52516). Good luck.
