okay first relax. I have a great dane named maximus who got parvo around 2 months of age. It was horrible. he pooped everywhere and threw up everything. I took him to the vet. They kept him there for 2 weeks. he had an I.V. in his arm and the last few days of the last week they started him on food. when we were able to take him home he had runny poop and threw up still but the virus was taken care of with a few shots. He missed a month or two of growing but today a year and half later he is a normal size and doing great. but I will insist you have the shot givin to your baby every year. good luck and I know she will make it because you took her to the vet immediately ooh btw I paid around 2,000 dollars for the treatment. sucks but worth it.

I'm sorry. I'm sure you already know this but when puppies get parvo they usually don't make it. My ex had two puppies, both got parvo and only one lived. The vets had to tape IV bags on their backs, it was so sad! There really is nothing you can do. If she is in the hospital now I'm sure they are doing the best the can to try and save your puppy. Good luck!

What is your question? I'm sorry to hear about your puppy. My dog had parvo when I first got her from the shelter. If she's at the animal hospital there isn't really much else you can do for her now. I'm sure the vets know what they are doing and your dog might be fine. My dog was much better after her treatment and she's fine today. She's almost 5 now. Just pray and hope for the best. I hope everything is OK.

Parvo can be deadly. You did the right thing taking her to the vet. Parvo is a virus. The only thing that can be done is to keep her hydrated. That is what the vet is doing. The survival rate is up to about 80% now. Cross your fingers and say a prayer.

If you have taken her to the docs, what are you looking for. If you caught it too late, she can die. Won't soft soap it for you. It sounds like she didn't get her shots at all. I sold two of my pups to the same person. When they left they had had first shots and wormed. He never took them for the follow ups. The one dog got it really bad. But was given the shots , and ,antibiotics to help him. He survived. I got the dog back and gave him to a friend of mine. She took him to get a five in one booster to get him caught up on the shots he missed. He is now a beautiful dog. I guess is alos depends on how bad she is. If it's not too late she can live. Just make sure she gets the rest of her shots. They say parvo can be caused from eating cat poop. You will also have to rally clean your house, from top to bottom. I have heard it can last six months in the house, and you pet will not be able to be around other pets for that long. That's why they push about getting shots. Ask your doc for more info, when you pick up your pet. I hoope you got her there in time and she lives, My friend just lost her dog after nine years, and she is heartbroken. Good luck to you, and post if she is getting better. I would like to know.

You need answers but you didn't ask a question....

Since your pup is already at the vet being treated, chances are good she will survive.

The treatment can be expensive $300 and up, so don't quit your day job!
