should the U.S. limit the number of children a couple can have?

have you driven in the country lately? stores and homes are popping up everywhere and all of the fields are dissapearing! If we dont do something soon we are going to lose some of the most beautiful land in our country!

maybe a parenting license? no couple can have more than two kids? something right? wouldnt you agree something has to be done?

personaly i dont think its that much of an infringment on anyones rights! it would be a low for our own good! for our childrens good!

i think it would help if we closed the borders too a parenting liscence might be ok i guess i did watch a show last night about a couple that has 16 kids!!! that's just a little excessive!!

No that would take away everything we stand for... you know China does that right... and if I am not mistaken China is a communist country. Yes something should be done but it is just an issue of what? What can we do that will not cater to the rich and forget the poor or take away our rights as Americans? The best option is to declare a certain ammount of America's forest's and nature off limits. Something that cannot be "fooled around with" or made into buildings. That is the best I can think of because to take away the right of people to have children is just wrong. And the only solution to an extra baby is to give it up or kill it and that is not ok. I would not be happy if I had to lose my baby due to a mistaken pregnancy.

The great thing about America is that we have the right to choose things such as how much we drive our cars, how many toys we buy, paper or plastic, and espcially what size family we feel we should have. The nation does state wether or not you are authorized to care for those children-- if you are not taking care of them properly they can be taken from you, which is fine because that directly effects the welfare of the child. Disapperaing land is not however directly impacting our childrens ability to thrive so I cannot justify limiting the number of children one has.

I agree with Dr. Henry.. have as many as you can afford to take care of.. and sometimes you fall on hard times and need a little help for a while.. but don't just keep having children to get more $$ from the state.. I do believe that possibly limiting the number that you can receive benefits for would cut some of the unwanted pregnancies.. and as for the couple on tv that has 16 kids.. if you watch the show not only are those children VERY well taken care of, but those parents do not receive ANY aid from their state and everything they buy, they have paid for (not financed).. I think they're doing pretty darned well and even some of us with 2 or 3 kids could take a lesson from them.

I think this is the inevitable condition that we all will face in this world.

Here is the picture: Whether or not we are limiting the number of children a couple can have or not, one day the same problem will strike again. So, it is not the solution. It is only delaying the effect for the moment.

I think the world is meant to be populated with people. So, the answer is no.

I see where you're going with that ... and I agree that overpopulation is a problem. However, restricting people's rights is not the answer.

How about this: For each child you enroll in public schools (after the first 2), you pay $8000 tuition per year. Would make a lot more people think before popping a third (or more) child out.

NO WAY! NOOO WAY! Building new homes and stores have nothing to do with people having babies! I always wondered why they can't deal with what is allready here.. Either Tear something down and build in its place or fix something up. I think there should be a law about how many new buildings can be built and where... Sorry, but there should not be a law against MAKING life... Just taking it. I have had the same worries about our land though... Are people really blind or do they do not see what is going on. Money is more important to people than our future world.

But YES lets please change the idiot f-ing law already, that makes it so easy to get more$$$ from our taxes if you have more and more welfare babies! What can we DO TODAY to get this law reversed??!! And yeah lets KEEP abortion and birth control LEGAL. They are trying to reverse ROE vrs WADE right now!! Encorage and even Subsidise ADOPTION instead of making it so hard! okay so I think its wrong to stop the number of children a couple can have, BUT I think that if the mother or father is on drugs or isn't a person that could take care their children then we could sterilize them. and I think a parenting license is a good idea!!! I mean we have to get one to drive a car, but not to raise a human being? whats up with that?

I don't think they should limit how many kids people have I think they should limit who they let have children.. A lot of parents have children they don't even care about so why let them have them in the first place?
Over population is a serious problem I agree.

Are you prepared to deal with the consequences of those actions? Limiting families to only have 2 children? People killing innocent babies because it was not a boy to carry on the family name. You should look into the affects its had in China where they are limited by government and read those horror stories first.
