It depends on a lot of factors. I was in the same situation as you, and had to wait a loooong time and a lot of money for a green card and social security number. My advice would be to stay in canada, yay!

Americans don't hate canadian. they think canadians are friendly and polite. and a bit like their little brother. but they usually don't think about canadians at all.
