Eat a large bowl of cereal a little while before setting off.

A couple of bottles (1.5 litres or so) of plain water.

3 or 4 cereal bars (Fruesli if you can get them) otherwise a few slices of malt loaf. Also take a chocolate bar with you, but only use it as an emergency measure of you run out of energy towards the end of the ride. Aim not to eat it.

Above all, remember to drink before you are thirsy and eat before you are hungry.

Enjoy your ride.
