Yes, definitely take a day off. Try to work different muscle groups each day... for instance, you worked your chest and arms and a bit of your shoulders doing push-ups. Now, today work on your back, or do some cardio.

I think you also alluded to you in your post that you are trying to reduce the flab in your arms. Working that particular muscle group will not reduce flab! There is no such thing as spot reduction of fat stores. You can certainly build muscle there, but unless you work on your diet and include cardio in your fitness routine, you'll never see the fruits of your labors.

I recommend a well-rounded fitness plan, one that includes a sensible diet, cardio activities, and most importantly, an all-around active lifestyle.

Use fitday.com to monitor your calories / activities and read a variety of fitness related magazines, such as Shape and Women's Health, or what not. They have solid advice for trimming up and making your workouts fun.

Good luck.

150 over the course of a DAY is not too bad...but if you did 150 at one time...or completed them in 10 mins or so... i would be impressed :)

if your muscles are sore, don't do anything. your muscles is torn (what happens when you workout) and so give it a day or two to repair. don't worry...it's just micro tears in your muscle which is normal. if you just started doing this, your recovery time could be significantly longer than 1-2 days. never workout a body part that is still sore from a workout...you'd just be tearing down the muscle before it is rebuilt stronger/bigger and you'd never make any gains.

and also make sure you get a lot of protein...or your body won't have anything to rebuild your muscle

Maybe not take a day off but work other muscle groups. The way a muscle gets stronger is that the exercise basically tears it, then the next day your body works to like fill in that area. Work out every other day and you'll be flabbyarmfree in no time. Good luck to you.

You are probably sore because your not used to exercising but it could also mean that your developing some kind of strength. I would continue exercising and see if you are still getting pains.

You should not have done that many. Do not do anymore for a few days.
