American.
If you want to be called Mexican-American, it is up to you, but my family isn't going to start calling ourselves 'German-American'. We are just Americans.

B.......American
If you were born in Mexico and immigrated legally you would then be a Mexican American...and if you had children they would be Americans. there is way to much hyphenation going on in America right now. As a result we are barely a cohesive nation but instead 50 different special interests groups trying to gain the political edge and use the American government as a weapon against other Americans. In other words there in no reason for a family from Israel to fight a Palestinian family here in America. this country should have served as a unifying factor. Both families would then be American families.

Your answer is (C) American. It does not matter your race, your were born here and that makes you an American by law.
I get so sick and tired of all the people that were born here and want to say their of another country or race. What if everyone in the U, S .A did this. I was born here so does that make me an American or am I English, French, German, Irish, Cherokee. Get the point. Blacks are the worst about this They want to be called Afro American. If this is what they want to be called, why don't they go back to the country their Mom and Dad and fore fathers came from . So you are either an American or not, if not get the hell out and don't come back. PS don't let the door slam into your @ss on the way out, we don't want it messed up.

I would say Chicano. But due to the fact that most American people have never heard the word, they would say Mexican-American. That is ok too, in my opinion. Hispanic is correct, but too vague. American is correct too, but doesnt go into detail. Being that I am none of those things, I prefer to be called White or Irish-American. I'm mostly called gabacha, which I am ok with.

Personally, I think we should all be called Americans, since we're all born in/or have chosen to live in the U.S.A.
I'm of Irish and German descent. But I just call myself American since I was born here and my mother and her parents and their parents and their parents were born here.
I choose not to be an Irish American or a German American. Just American.
But if someone wants to describe that they are American while at the same time saying they are of Mexican Descent, I have no problem with Mexican American. It would be ridculous to expect someone to call themselves American of Mexican Descent...it's just too long...kinda like an American calling themselves a United-States-of-American to differentiate between the Americans from U.S. and the Americans from the two continents.

American---and if you want to go by the decent then I believe should be called American Mexican---not Mexican -American--just my thought on it--due to the fact if you fought to be an American there is a passion for coming here, and therfore you are American First.

American-is you are born here. Some like to add more (like Afro American ) I have to many nationalities to say all. And would appreciate if I didn't have to call everyone by all their nationalities. And of course you can always say I'm Californian or Kentuckian and so on.

If your parents are here legally the answer would be
b)American
If your parents were here illegally you would then be called an "anchor baby" which is recognized as a legal citizen, or American. However, the constitution has been misinterpreted by many, and 'anchor babies' really should not be considered legal citizens.

"Hispanic" because it covers all "hispanic" desents like Spain, Mexico, Central America, and South America. Think about it: How would you like it if someone said "That person is "American", woudln't you be used to hearing white instead of specifically "American"? It sounds kind of rude. I would think it sounded funny if someone came up to be and said "That guy is a Spaniard". Doesn't fit that well.
