marvin hagler was a great champion for years (and really he got robbed when he fought ray leanord) and jermain taylor is just a pup so its not really a fair comparison. hagler was a great power puncher, a better boxer and he could switch from southpaw to orthodox(people forget that). i think that would be too much for taylor to overcome even if he was more seasoned. Hagler would stalk him unlike hopkins did. Hopkins had taylor in trouble but didnt capitalize. Hagler would finish the job. Hagler by 8th rd KO

Agreed. Hagler would destroy Taylor. Hagler compared to Hopkins fought with energy, ring generalship, and was a southpaw. I bring up Hopkins because he should've killed that kid, but the styles were way too contrasting. Hagler would pepper that kid with jabs and a left hook.

this may well be a proper matchup. 2 super warring events with magnificent chins (over a hundred+ fights between them and in trouble-free words 3 credited knockdowns, and neither ever stopped). And the two warring events took savour being in magnificent situation. optimal adult adult males tried to beat Hagler via brawling with him. Hagler's protection wasn't his means and he might choose to be hit. So a important sort of warring events, even ones with solid boxing skills like Thomas Hearns, elected to commerce with him. Hagler might basically shop good rigidity and placed on them down. Hopkins is a splash better versatile and is an superior useful boxer than Hagler is. He might decide on for to prepare his exterior game (in his proper, he might choose to container effectively and not clinch as plenty) to maintain Hagler at bay and score components. Hopkins is an particularly solid protective fighter. it may well be a nip/tuck try against. Hopkins might have fulfillment utilising his top and attain and landing from the exterior. yet he additionally might desire to no longer get as much as a solid indoors try against. there may well be some previous-college brawling in there. area of me says Hagler is nice adequate to win the alternative. different area of me says Hopkins and his boxing skills win the day. it particularly is a try against the placement I particularly might might choose to coach a coin to %.. a winner.
