Ammonia, moth balls, orange peel, mint are all things I've heard to use. I've not used anything but moth balls and I don't think they worked too good. GRRRRR - GOOD LUCK.

Chili powder and red pepper flakes work for me.
I love cats and have an inside-outside cat and some outside cats. But can understand not wanting them to do their business in your flower bed or vegetable garden.
Stir the chili powder and pepper flakes together and sprinkle where ever you don't want the cats to be. You may have to do this a couple of times. It won't hurt them, but they DO NOT like it on their feet. Once or twice having it get on them is usually all it takes. It really works!

Hey! Why would you want them to stop - as long as they cover it up, I bet those flowers grow taller and fuller than they would w/o that natural fertilizer! Save money, too! But if you want them to stop...there are special types of products in your garden store to prevent or discourage cats from doing that.

put his face on the poo he made... make sure your doors are locked or closed to prevent their running inside your house.. it will serve as a lesson for them to not poo on that spot so that you wont dip their faces anymore.. after 30 mins bath him. Or.......... Caught him in the action, If u see him poo slap his butt so hard.. it will remind him to stay away from that place... If you don't want him to poo in your garden, bring him to other places that he can poo freely.. I'm sure there's a sign before he poo in your garden.. Wait for the sign before you bring to that place where you want him to poo and after few days of hard work, he'll totally forget about pooing in your garden..

Spray it down every morning with a water/vinegar solution.
It will repel them.

Think of it as free fertilizer. Just bury their poop if you don't want to look at it.
