The Bible does not say that drinking is bad. It does say that drinking to be/get drunk is bad. It also says that you should honor the Temple of God (your body) by taking care of it. It also says that people should use self-control and discipline - if you are drunk or high, you won't have those. Yes, you could offer drinking and drugs as a sacrifice. But, DON'T do it on your own. Have the support of friends, family, ANYONE who will help you. Also, don't do it without God's help. He loves you lavishly. You are His beautiful daughter. He wants you to be free of anything that would bind you to evil and pain. The Bible says that He promises to be there for you ALWAYS. Trust Him to tell you the truth, and to be there for you.

It doesn't.
Sacrifice? If I was to rob widdows as a hobby could I stop doing that as a sacrifice? No I could not.
Besides, after Jesus'sacrifice all others became redundant. Hence the new testament. New rules, new management. But old habits die hard even afte 2000 years.
You would do yourself a great service and God would like you taking care of you.... but....
God does not want your sacrifice, he wants you to do good and be good and feel good about yourself and the world (without the dope). Not doing bad is not the same... get it?

Drinking in itself isn't bad. When you let it take control of you instead of you controlling the drinking that's when it become a problem. Like my parents they had an alcohol problem, but when they became christians they gave their problem from God and He cleansed them of it. It's now their convictions and their personal problems that keep them from drinking. I, on the other hand, have not had a drinking problem. I have a drink maybe once a week. I know how to control it. Your body is the temple of God. Why would you want to defile God's temple by doing drugs? Don't just give up the drinking (if you have a self-control problem) and the drugs for lent. If you want to give them up, do it permanently and give them up with your whole heart. If you're not completely sincere about giving it up then the problem will arise time after time. Give your problems to Christ with your whole heart, mind, soul and strength and He WILL cleanse you from them.

LIKE IN ALL MEDECINE,TOO MUCH IS NO GOOD.THE BIBLE SAYS ITS OK TO HAVE A COUPLE,BUT IT IS BETTER NOT TO DRINK AT ALL.THATS WHY THEY CALL IT SPIRITS, AFTER YOU HAD TOO MUCH YOU ARE NOT IN COMPLETE CONTROL OF YOURSELF. SACRIFICE IS WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID FOR US, SO THAT WE MAY HAVE LIFE.
GOD IS LOVE

No, because those are things you shouldn't be doing anyway. Give up something you like that isn't good for you, like soda or candy.

it says not to do it to excess. that's what it means. and any excess is bad. you don't need to go around, staggering all up and down the road, falling on your face and vomiting.
trust me, the morning after you'll regret it.
