I mean there is absolutely no evidence and don't just quote from the bible as that is just a story book and no one knows when it was written and it has been changed over time. What annoys me most it the way you just throw away scientific evidence because it doesn't agree with what’s in your story book why? Why chose to believe in 1 book instead of using your mind and thinking about facts and realising the truth? The fact is there is no god, the big bang was caused by the implosion of the previous universe, and no matter how many people in churches tell you evolution is real and it can be proven with evidence. Sorry but you where wrong want to realise the truth and go on to become a productive member of the scientific community working towards discovering the truth? If you want to discuss any of this my instant messenger address is on my Q&A screen.

Come on there must be some reason as to why you believe that you can back up with evidence.

Just trying to work out why you believe things with no reason to and abandon scientific evidence which is perfectly valid.

jacelie who said anything about chance? The universe has come together by forces of attraction of varying sized partials (which we know is there) it's not chance it's physics. And a theory only means an idea it is still called a theory even after evidence has been accepted if I said creationism theory was incorrect instead of just creationism would that make my point any more valid?

As you said we can look at the properties of the core of the Earth but we can't look at the properties of god because he isn't there. And how can you not comprehend the universe being compressed to the size of a grain of sand but comprehend it just all popping into existence all at once. And at those sort of compression the universe would be energy not matter.

I couldn't agree with you more. What irritates me the most is the lack of wanting to learn. They figure if they should know it, it would be in the bible. At this point, religion is basically standing in the way of progress.

Well first off a common misconception of the Bible is that it was changed over time by translation. That's wrong. Yes words here and there have been changed but if you were to compare the english bible to the bibles in all different languages around the world, statictis say that they come out to be 95% the same. the general message of the Bible is the same to what is originally was, and soo many people have tried to destroy the bible in the past and it is still standing and here today. What scientific evidence are there that prove the big bang theory anyways, remember its still a theory because it hasn't been proven. You have faith that that that's how the earth began, and there is no proof, same with evolution from monkeys or whatever, that has no evidence therefore it is just a theory. I have faith that God created the universe, you have faith that a big bang caused by whatever created the universe. Actually I think that Creation makes more sense. I just can't understand the big bang. If you think about at somepoint in that theory something had to come out of nothing. How can that ever happen? like at first there was those gases or particles or whatever, i dont exactly remember the theory in detail, but then u have to ask urself, where did that come from ,and where did that come from? And I also so hard for me to believe that everything just came to be by chance. By chance we have a body that has a full working digestive system and reproductive system, how would nature know that thats what we need to survive? By chance only a man and a woman can have babies together and by chance we have trees that give off oxygen for us to breathe and everything turned out so... i don't know how to explain it.. orderly. If the big bang was true wouldn't things have been more random, like some of us with differnt amount of fingers or some with different kinds of body parts or something? I find it way easier to believe that in the beginning God created everything and made things the way he wanted it to be, a God who has no beginning and no end. And besides the evolution stuff and of course the miracles Jesus performed in his time, science agrees pretty well with the Bible. If you were to research the Bible and the dates and the places you would find that the bible is also accurate. I cant explain everything on here plus I dont remember everything, but yah, theres informational books out there and other sources you can read and get more information about what I'm talking about. But really, in the long run the proof doesn't matter. It comes down to the fact that either there is a God or there isn't. Either there is a heaven and a hell, or there isnt. And like I heard someone say before, i would rather live my life like there is a God and find out that there isnt than live my life like there isnt a a God and find out that there is ;)

There are a lot of reasons to believe in God. I doubt very much any of them will make a difference to you.
But don't expect any of them to change your mind.
"To those who believe no explanation is necessary. To those who do not, no explanation will suffice."
I find it interesting: "The fact is there is no God." You don't know that. There's no physical evidence proving that God does not exist. That means you are basing a disbelief on a lack of evidence. This is grossly illogical.
You say that the Big Bang proves God did not create the universe. First of all, the Big Bang is only a Theory. As such it cannot be considered scientific fact. What's more, you are merely assuming the Big Bang proves God did not create the universe.
The Big Bang may very well have happened. But this possibility in no way disproves the existance of God. What it means is that God created the universe using the Big Bang. That's what it means.
The faithful do not dismiss science. They merely dismiss it as far as the proving or disproving of God goes. Science is very good at studying things in this physical, temporal, world of ours.
Alas, God exists in a non-physical, eternal, realm that science is totally incapable of researching. That is why there is no "physical" evidence. You have to investigate the non-physical reality of God. Science can't do that.
Proper Christians don't deny science. They only deny what you are trying to do - endorse a science that attempts to remove God's involvement in the goings on of the physical temporal realm.
No doubt, you've probably heard people tell you that faith itself is proof God exists? That's because faith is a gift from God. If there was no God, not one single human being would have faith in any supernatural deity whatsoever. But since the vast, vast, majority of the human race has faith in some form of deity, you cannot deny faith itself as overwhelming evidence of the existance of God.
Fact is you believe there is no God - but you do not know it. Fact is, believers know there is a God, although they might have trouble proving it to skeptics like yourself.
That is the essense of faith. I wan't afraid to take that leap. But, apparently, you are.

Believing in God isn't so much whether there is actually proof that he exist, but more of a feeling that you have. Just because you can't see him doesn't mean he doesn't exist.
There are a lot of things that people believe in, but have never seen. One of these is the core of the earth. Scientists have never been to the core of the earth but because they sent sound waves through the earth, they know that the core is made of molten rock and people believe this.
It is the same as the bible. People wrote down the accounts of Jesus and wrote it down. How do we know that it is true or not? We don’t, but it something that we choose to believe in. People believe in, even though they haven't seen the accounts.
You believe in evolution and the big bang, I assume, and that is fine. But tell me, how can something the size of the universe fit into something the size of a grain of sand? That doesn't make sense to me. I can not comprehend that theory, but I can comprehend God creating the universe.
So even though there is no proof, doesn’t mean we can’t believe in it.

I belive in God based on personal experience, I see the Bible as the witness of people who have gone before. The Bible doesn't prove God exists, the Bible is more like a family history, telling the stories of faith.
I believe God created and set things in motion. We have souls and spirits and capacities that go beyond accident.
Tom & BC munkee, why are you so drawn to religion and spirituality?

Proof and evidence in the scientific sense cannot be found. Proof and evidence as perceived by an individual can be found: an ocean wave, a flower, the sky....could be seen as "proof" of a god.
What "proof" do you have that you believe in yourself? What evidence do you really have that suggests you ought to believe in yourself? Why do you believe in yourself? Do you believe in yourself??? If you answer these questions positively, then you are using non-scientific measurements; you have to use subjective measurements to answer these questions!
So "proof" for your existence, Tom, and "proof" for God's existence must pass the same test! Can you pass it? Do you exist?

Your eyes will be opened to see, your ears will be healed to hear the voice of God, your hart will be full of Light and you'll fell His love for you. Don't pass sow easy trough this words! God is asking you to come to Him. If you'll make one step He will make the others to be near you and to hear your prayers! Ask Him to give you the Belief and He will open your eyes! the bigbang is still a 'theory'. scientists havent said it is 100% true. why choose to believe in chance when there is another option to believe that there is a Higher Being up there Who holds everything together? isnt believing in chance more an impossibility than believing in creation? the natural philosophers in the the olden days (like isaac newton) were christians. :)
