it is black and curly and very long, but my friends and sis tell me its better to have shorter hair... help!

Hey!!! i had the same problem as you except my hair was wavy.. idecided to cut it and i did nd i did layers and bangs..it turned out great.. i donated it to locks of love...do it if u wanna do it..i wanted to and im glad!!

I feel horrible saying this, but hair that long has absolutely no style at all. Contrary to popular belief, longer is NOT better and most of the time hair that long looks ragged and unkempt.
If you're wearing it down to your waist, then it's a security blanket. I know it's hard letting go of hair that long, but you need to because it's not the only thing that makes you attractive.
You DON'T have to go short.
Your hair is so long that you could cut it just below your shoulders (or chest) and still have beautiful LONG hair but with the added bonus of a great style, healthy bounce and volume and lots of new and exciting styling options.

Well, first if it is waist length and you cut it then you should be sure to participate in a program like locks for love.
And on the flipside. it is hair if you hate it short you can always let it grow back!

I personally don't like really long hair like that because it's hard to take care of and just doesn't look as good. I say go for it.

Yes, you probably look like Rapunzel. Only super thick straight long dark brown hair looks good. I suggest going short and layered.

It's not nessasarily "better" to have short hair. Iyt's really not up to them anyway. If YOU want to then go for it. But if you don't want to just tell them that you like your hair and wwould rather leave it be and youd really prefer to no longer discuss the issue.

Yes, it's too long to keep it washed enough in hot summer weather. Choose between jaw length and shoulder length.

Hell yes,its impossible 2 fix waist-length hair into any kind of style.i suggest u should cut it alittle past ur shoulder blades altleast

it sounds gorgous, A LOT of guys like girls with long, dark hair, i'd keep it waist length, or you can cut it a little bit because waist length is VERY long

dnt cut it justcuz they want to. long hair is very elegant and you can always do stuff with it! trim it to get rid of split ends but dont compelty cut it off
