Well, it depends what the embalming fluid is composed of. Long ago, embalming fluid was made mostly of organic fluids and lots of spices like clove to hide the smell.

Today's embalming fluid is made up of a lot worse stuff--one of the ingredients is formeldyhyde (or derivatives there-of), which is a nasty ingredient. I suppose at very small amounts it would just make a person sick, although the risk is for long term chronic illness is high. At higher amounts, it can be quite deadly.

The primary ingredient in embalming fluid is formaldehyde. There are some druggies out there who lace marijuana with embalming fluid, and the high they get is like using PCP.

Embalming fluid abuse can cause brain damage, as well as a lot of other health issues, and it is carcinogenic. Look at this site for more information:

Formaldehyde? Extremely poisonous. I think your neighbor is drinking musketel and just calling it embalming fluid.

wow that is sick! I have heard of dipping a rolled cigarette into embolming fluid and when you smoke it you get a buzz!! but even that is weird to me! I would think his blood is pretty thick to handle small doses everyday!!!

I heard some people can get high off of it, but this can and evntually will kill you. I would call posion control on them, NOW.

this is a toxic poison, call the poison control center and ask, it could possibly cause liver or kidney failure, they will let you know and you can advise your friend
