On your DVD player you should see Audio and Video out ports and they should be Red and Yellow. There will be another port two that is white. Set up your DVD player and connect the RED cable to the red port on your TV and the Yellow to the Yellow on your TV. As long as you have the Video and Audio in the right ports you should be good there. Now..on your tv you will need to go to the menu on the TV or the remote and select the imput that you want. You prob want video 1 or something like that, but play with it and see exactly which one. Good luck setting this up!

First get the RCA cables (the cable with three plugs on each end: yellow, red, and white) and match the colors with the OUTPUT on the back of the DVD player (like the yellow to the video out, and the red and white to the audio out). Plug the other ends of the cable, matching the colors, to the input on the front of your tv. Turn the tv and the dvd player on, then flip the channels or use the tv remote to find the front input/video channel. You'll know u found it when the tv is showing the dvd player screen.

If your TV and DVD have an S-Video port, then you can purchase an S-Video cable and connect out port from dvd to input in the tv. However, if there are 3 ports ( colors- yellow, red and white) then get a video audio cable and line up the colors from output ports on your dvd player to the input ports in front of your tv.

If it is a portable DVD player a cable may have been provided for this purpose, please see the manual for the device on how to do this.
If there is no such cable, you may want to order it, most portable players offer tis option.
If the player has connectors that match the TV take the player to your local electronics store and have them provide the cable.
The most used are SVideo and composite. Please refer to the following for examples.
http://www.vpi.us/cables-o.html?OVRAW=video%20cable&OVKEY=video%20cable&OVMTC=standard
There are ways to convert from one to another, ask your local electronics store
If you have a computer dvd drive, it is going to be very hard to do hook it up.
