The prozac might not be working for you, it doesn't for everyone. Go back to your GP and he'll change them for you.
It's positive that you are putting the welfare of your son as a high priority, that's a really good sign.
Post natal depression is different from clinical depression too, it responds better from different treatments.
Try typing it into a search engine.
As maybe a later reesort, you could try CBT, cognitive behavioural therapy. CBT is pretty intence, it makes you really analyze yourself, and while the end results can be amazing it's a difficult process to put yourself through.
Try to remember honey, while I'm not trying to patronise your misery, millions of women havve survived pnd and you can too, you'll be on the road to enjoying your sons early years before you know it.
I'd definately get off prozac and try something else though.

You have postpartum depression? Some of the symptoms of that are;
- Being unable to enjoy yourself with the baby, and everyday activities.
- Appetite is sometimes affected, with mothers not being interested in food.
- Irritability is common. Feeling 'low', 'miserable' and tearful for no apparent reason.
- Frequent anxiety
-Depression is often accompanied by feelings of being 'worthless' and 'hopeless'.
If you're being seen by a psychiatrist and are still having symptoms of depression you should have them re-evaluate the medication you're on.
Also, talk about the problem with somebody. Getting extra support and help with looking after the baby is also important. Get out and have time to yourself. Even if it's just to the grocery store or for a walk. This will allow you to have time to clear your head.

Wanting to die is as bad a symptom as you can get.
Just know there are people out here who have gone through the same thing and care about others like you who are going through it. Don't go throught this alone. Get as much help as you can... and keep this phrase in your head...
"No matter how crazy I get this is all part of the process of getting better eventually. " .......So if you want to laugh - then laugh, if you want to cry - cry, if you want to scream - then scream.
You're obviously a good Mum and care about your son... when it all gets too much think of that poor little bundle who is dependent on having a healthy Mum to bring him up and love him.... for a few decades at least

You hang on in there. Loads of us have been through this and we're cheering you on.
If its post natal depression then time passing will help. The excersise suggestion is great, it really does work, put baby in the buggy and go feed the ducks.
Just take each day as it comes, you'll get through this.

Most of the symptoms are lost appetite, no interest on anything, thinking about suicide. That is normal. However, the cure is to find the meaningful things to do.
Fulfil your life with things you want to explore. If you have $, try to travel around. if you don't, try to learn something new, music instrucment, new hobby, meet new people.. or maybe internet surfing can help too!

fluoxotine are a good medication but like most medication over time the effectiveness starts to weaken.severe symptons of depression are so wide ranging it is almost impossible to say.it is individual people affected in individual ways.you are certainly starting to take the right steps,even by asking the question,that shows realisation that a problem exists so well done.

I've had depression and some symptoms are wanting to die, feel like you're defeated, sad,easily angered or upset,feel unwanted or unloved,abandoned,cheated,tired,stressed,and just wish someone would kill you or something to put you out of your misery. Whatever you do don't throw away your life just tell yourself it will end one day and that God is testing you. I WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK IN THE WORLD!!!!!!:)
