My cat was spayed when she was 6 weeks old. When we first took her home she was way shy. but she got used to us. then she wouldnt let us pick her up. all of a sudden she wouldnt let us pet her. she got real mean, and i have a fealing it was because she was traumatized. or it realy herts her stomach to be touched. she is 4 now and will let us pet her but we still cant pick her up, and no 1 can get near her stomach. do you think when she gets older we will be able to pick her up, and not be so nervious to pet her?

Pediatric sterilization has shown itself to be a generally safe procedure. However, it is possible that something went wrong.

There are shy cats and there are many cats who don't like their stomachs touched or don't like being picked up. However, if she's really violent about it, I'd have a vet take a look at her. There could be something medically wrong with her.

This cat had all her hormones shut off while she was still a baby. That can affect developement. Experts say that for the long term health of the animal, you should wait to spay/neuter until 6 months of a year. Shelters do it because people promise to bring them back for spay/neuter and don't. What they do bring back is the next generation.
